Dee-liberations: OMG! Another New Bird!
http://dee-liberations.blogspot.com/2015/05/omg-another-new-bird.html
Wednesday, May 27, 2015. Davey and I took a drive down to the farm store, Roork's, this morning, looking to buy some bird seed and another type of feeder for our yard. Of course I couldn't decide, so we ended up with two new feeders plus peanuts, plus dried mealworms. Yum! And of course the suet and seeds we went there to buy. A hundred dollars later, we were on our way home, still looking for the spot we once saw hundreds of swans during their migration. And we found it! No swans, though. I very quietly...

Dee-liberations: Drat! Foiled again!
http://dee-liberations.blogspot.com/2015/06/drat-foiled-again.html
Tuesday, June 23, 2015. A month or so ago we bought a peanut feeder. We've never had one, but we thought it might attract blue jays and woodpeckers to our yard. We watched it for weeks, but no activity. Last week, FINALLY, it had some activity from an unexpected visitor. Pictures at 300mm handheld, so they're not real clear, but the story is worth it. Me: There's something back at the peanut feeder! Davey: No way I can see what kind it is way back there. Peck, peck. Yank, yank. Finally got one, but oops!

Dee-liberations: Mrs. Robin Takes a Shower
http://dee-liberations.blogspot.com/2015/06/mrs-robin-takes-shower.html
Wednesday, June 3, 2015. Mrs Robin Takes a Shower. The theme for my bird group this week is birds bathing, and I just happened to take about 50 or 60 pictures of a robin bathing in the waterfall of our pond last week. Here's an overview of the pond and waterfall. It's pretty big! Lots of water flowing there! So Mrs. Robin, at least I'm pretty sure it's a female, first does a test fly-by, perhaps checking the temperature or flow of the water. Looks okay, she thinks, so she hops down closer. I'm a recently...

Dee-liberations: January 2014
http://dee-liberations.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html
Thursday, January 16, 2014. I bought the Elite Force series by Catherine Mann with my Christmas gift card. The books were exciting, lots of action plus romance. Here's my take on each book:. My rating: 3 of 5 stars. He goes to rescue. She finds dead bodies. My rating: 4 of 5 stars. She's in an earthquake. He rescues her and nephew. Series, but could stand alone. My rating: 4 of 5 stars. Bad guys after her. Vet told her about traitor. She needs PJ's help. And doggies made it special. She's agent, hostage.

Dee-liberations: March 2014
http://dee-liberations.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html
Thursday, March 27, 2014. Now that it seems like spring is really here, I just want to document what a terrible winter we've had. We've had cold winters, and we've had snowy winters, but this past winter of 2013-2014 seems to me the worst combination of the two since we moved to South Jersey 40 years ago. So here's the story, as told through my Facebook posts. Dec 8, 2013: Portey loves the snow! Later: About 7 inches. Dec 21: Four days before Christmas, and too warm for long sleeves! Deck in the back alr...

http://dee-liberations.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html

Portey, running like hell: birdbirdbirdbirdbirdbird gottagettabird gottagettabird gottagettabird . oh, crap, where'd he go? Harry: Hmm, nice view from up here. Betsy: I'm going to get my good camera so we can get a better picture. I do believe I will patronize a more accommodating establishment. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. Dee-liberations: January 2015
http://dee-liberations.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Friday, January 23, 2015. The No Junk Food Challenge. Found this on Facebook:. Do you think I can do this for 21 days? How about the whole family? Maybe I'll start Monday. Friday, January 9, 2015. Mr Robin isn't too certain about all those starlings bathing in the bio-falls, but he finally decides to join them. Poor birdies. so cold that the pond is frozen over and there's no place to get a drink. I don't understand why those starlings are bathing in this freezing weather. But I'm really thirsty, so.

Dee-liberations: Independence Day
http://dee-liberations.blogspot.com/2015/07/independence-day.html
Saturday, July 4, 2015. This recently fledged young robin got onto our front porch railing and was afraid to move. I walk past it several times, carefully, and put up the sign so the girls wouldn't scare it when they came home from school. The next day it was gone. Bye bye, birdie! Scanned from the prehistoric times before digital cameras. Taken with my old Nikkormat FT-2 with Nikon 55mm lens. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. Friend me on Facebook. Dee-liberations: April 2015
http://dee-liberations.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
Thursday, April 30, 2015. On my Facebook bird group I saw that there were baby great horned owls down in Delaware at Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge, so I convinced Davey to drive down there last week. A few other firsts for me that day, too! Brown thrasher, hiding in the brush. And not a first, but still awesome. Possibly a juvenile bald eagle. And a turkey vulture! What a great day we had! I can't wait to go back! 4/24/15 at Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge. Saturday, April 25, 2015. Taken wit...
