Deliberately Delightful Days

Friday, December 16, 2011. Have a Holly Jolly Christmas! We had an early surprise Christmas this year! We got a call from some volunteers at the Festival of Trees and they said that some people had bought a tree on our behalf and they'd like to deliver it to us. Thirteen people showed up at the house with a moving truck! They were so excited and we even more so! The first woman in said, "You were so excited on the phone - it just makes this oh so fun! Deliberately Delightful Days: And He's Off!

http://deliberatelydelightfuldays.blogspot.com/2010/09/and-hes-off.html

Sunday, September 12, 2010. How did it happen so quickly? My little 2 lb 13 oz baby is now a kindergartner! Life is whizzing by way too fast for my liking! There was so much I was going to do with him before he started school, so many adventures, so much to explore, so much to teach and learn. But look - here he is - a full-time kindergartner in Mrs. Dahlgren's class at Sandy Elementary! He loves recess - of course! If we can just keep that attitude for the next 16-18 years! Deliberately Delightful Days: March 2010

http://deliberatelydelightfuldays.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html

Wednesday, March 10, 2010. I must miss my acting days because I just did something stupid straight out of the movies! I was pulling on a shirt, talking on the phone and quickly heading to the back door to tell my kids to come back inside when I didn't notice the stupid McDonald's toy sitting maliciously on the stairs. Curse those Happy Meals! I stepped on the penguin full on which caused me to do the not so nifty stunt of falling down the stairs, swearing into the phone and landing in much pain!

Deliberately Delightful Days: April 2010

http://deliberatelydelightfuldays.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html

Wednesday, April 14, 2010. T-ball is a riot! Tonight Yousef, my almost 5 year old, had his first t-ball game. Mind you he has never even been to a practice and he just wanted to play because last summer he had his first taste of whacking that ball and he loves hitting the ball with me. Come on - who doesn't love that thrill of connecting with the ball and feeling the force of your swing sending that ball flying? I was laughing so hard! Good job little guy! http://lisforliz.blogspot.com/2012/09/the-beat-goes-on.html

Tuesday, September 25, 2012. The beat goes on. It has been way too long since i've been on the blog. a lot has happened - my dad came to live with us while battling stage 4 prostate cancer. he was put on hospice on august 17th and then passed away peacefully in our home on august 21st. it was a very bittersweet moment. I cannot express how grateful i am that he was able to spend his last days with us. naomi still talks about him "sleeping" and i am already sad thinking about the day when she forgets.

Deliberately Delicious | living a passionate life

Living a passionate life. August 5, 2015. The summer breeze gently shakes the cedars, cools me as I rock slowly in the hammock and play with words. I’ve been writing out here practically every day, spending hours crafting sentences and scenes. Who knew that I could find inspiration in this space? I’m filling the form. August 3, 2015. Our favourite paddled in wearing a suit and tie! By the time the symphony begins, the area in front of the stage will be filled with boats, rafted up together, side by side.

Choosing to be Disney in a complicated world. December 7th, 2011 Posted in Movie. Muppets’ Wizard of Oz. Is almost unbearable), so I can be objective. But I am predisposed to like the furry little creatures. Muppet movies do something that I think most kids movies fail miserably at. They manage to balance humor that makes both kids and adults laugh. My favorite Muppet movie is still. A Muppet Christmas Carol. But The Muppets (this newest movie) is a close second, with. Deliberately Domestic | living deliberately for Christ in a capricious world

Not Frightened by Fear. 7 March, 2017. I had the privilege of sharing a bit of my story this morning at Women’s Bible Study. It’s a bit different format since I was speaking, not blogging, but here’s what I spoke on:. Absolutely. And yet this passage says she “didn’t fear what was frightening.” She trusted that God would be her Ever-Faithful and Perfect Husband. She trusted in God rather than Abraham — and God protected her. How could I trust him to lead our family? And what if he decided to leave me?

The last few months haven't been without their trials and frustrations. I had another friend commit suicide. One who I had been fairly close to previously. It took a lot out of me to go to yet another funeral for a young man only a few years my senior. It was a sobering reminder that you are never sure exactly where people are in their lives. Life has slowed down a lot more I will do more to update more frequently, and maybe take the time to change this site to reflect more of where my life is now. I'm n...
