Wednesday, July 29, 2015. Upgrade : Windows 10. Today was the official release date for Windows 10. Instead of waiting for the automated downloads that I had requested I decided to reach out, grab the upgrade tool, and update both my Surface 3 and my "big" computer. Elapsed time was probably about 2 hours between downloading, installing, and configuring. The entire process was easy, pretty much running itself. It's time to re-familiarize myself with my computers! It's an interesting change.

Sunday, August 02, 2015. I don't know what drew my eye to the top shelf in the cookie aisle of the grocery store (especially since I wasn't looking for cookies! A bag of Sheila G's Brownie Brittle. Jumped into my hands. The web site's statement "you'll be amazed at how we squeeze a mountain of chocolate goodness into a wafer-thin snack". Is true. These crispy cookies are a nice taste treat. Monday, August 31, 2015. Today was a two weather day. The morning was gray and then wet, the afternoon sky was a treat in blue. We started the morning by heading up the Notch Trail. Denise wasn't sure it was her kind of trail and as it turns out it wasn't. You know she doesn't like steep trails, don't you? We were going to head out on the Castle Trail next but we decided to drive down the road instead. It seemed like the trail would be slippery when it was wet. Posted by Denise Goldberg. Friday, April 30, 2010. Last week I went to the multi-use path along side the Cape Cod Canal. It was a perfect day for a walk. This gull was very cooperative and waited patiently while I composed the picture. I will have to make the trip here more often. Thursday, April 15, 2010. Recently I purchased a new piece of photo equipment, Opteka X-Grip. It was on sale. It serves as a good stable platform for low shots. I will experiment some more. Here is an ant's view. Saturday, November 28, 2009. Some persons have a natural beauty that is not pasted on each morning. They are often very photogenic, have an easy smile that is not forced. These pictures were taken at a family gathering so consider them snapshots. Had I the opportunity I would have chosen the background more carefully. Below is another natural beauty in the making. Thursday, November 25, 2010. Discovering photos within photos. I have not posted for awhile for the same reason I haven't been able to try to improve my photo skills…. But I have been able look at the work of others. One of my favorite bloggers is Kate of "What I Saw Riding My Bike Around Today". But wait, there's more. Need a banner for your newsletter or website. Need an example of the Great Blue Heron. Or how about the sky and cloud formation as a background. Or you could crop and get a smaller picture.

Friday, June 4, 2010. Today I was going to try and locate some wild irises in a maple swamp. As I headed for the woods this opportunity presented itself. The deer stared at me for some time and then decided it was time to hide. I never did locate the irises. Tomorrow is another day, another opportunity. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Sunday, July 11, 2010. This is a longish story, bear with me as I recall the past and look forward to the future. Pictured below is Pat, me, and our Jack Taylor tandem, circa 1983. Working with his Manhattan tandem I asked for modifications that would allow us to cycle together again. I adjusted his photo and sent him the jpeg above. Jack was very willing to create the tandem that would satisfy our needs. After some conversations and emails the deal was made. So here is Brigit. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Saturday, May 22, 2010. A Walk in the Woods. A walk in the woods is perfect as calming influence on the mind and body. It shuts off the noise of traffic and allows you some peaceful moments. You can listen for the quiet sounds of nature, except for the crows. And if you want to you do not have to think, just vegetate. We all need these times of solitude. June 3, 2010 at 11:20 PM. Friday, March 23, 2018. There's still snow on the ground but I took a chance on a short walk at Maudslay this afternoon. Boston to Oregon, a cross-country celebration
Boston to Oregon, a cross-country celebration. It's time to live my dream of riding my bicycle across the country. Monday, January 26, 2009. It's time to ride my dream. Journal entry written on May 10, 2002. I planned to take a short bike trip this summer to celebrate my 50th birthday. I've never even felt middle-aged - so how did 50 years pass? It's time for a summer of bicycling! After that, I'll have to decide what comes next. To learn a little about me, press the Author link at the top of the page.

Ireland at last
Explorations in two countries, from Belcoo to Belfast. Monday, January 19, 2009. Looking back, thoughts from July 2003. This seems to be my year for wandering far from home, and for exploring islands. I've had Ireland on my mind as a destination for a while, and it finally bubbled to the top this year. Ireland - one island, but two countries. Of course there are places that look interesting to me in both countries, so. My decision - one island, two countries, and I'm visiting both of them! I know that I'...

What do you mean I can't ride my bike?
What do you mean I can't ride my bike? The journey back - - from crash to recovery. Friday, January 16, 2009. Plans are apparently made to be changed. I spent a fair amount of time dreaming of biking during the winter months of 2004. And of course I was planning bike tours in my dreams. Should I use all of my vacation time in one fabulous trip, or should I take a couple of shorter trips? To my summer 3 to 4 days a week. This journal is a bit different from my other journals. It is about biking, but i...

Wandering along the edge
Wandering along the edge. An exploration of Prince Edward Island. Monday, January 26, 2009. Hey Denise, it's August: And you still haven't settled on the location of your second biking vacation of the year! Journal entry written on August 1, 2005. Yes, you're right, I really am. Talking to myself, although I could just as easily be talking to one of my touring bikes. She has been bugging me about making plans ever since I got home from my trip in Downeast Maine. Are you implying that I'm not normal?
