Monday, June 20, 2011. What is a Mystery Quilt you ask? I did too. I never understood how the term Mystery could be related to a quilt, but I found out. Wednesday, September 22, 2010. Our new bedroom set. In August we decided it was time for a new bedroom set and mattress. Well this is the beautiful bed that we chose. The quilt was made by me in 2008 and was seen in previous blog. The nightstands needed dust covers (I hate to dust) so yesterday I proceeded to use my scraps of fabric left over from the quilt. Wednesday, March 16, 2011. Michelle said she wanted a quilt. I said, I will teach you how and you can make it. She finished the top today and it is now at the Longarm quilters for completion of the quilting project. Because it is a king size quilt it is much too large to do on my machine. I am proud of her for taking the challenge and doing such a great job. Pattern was from the book 'City Lights' quilts, and the fabrics are the 'Stonehenge' collection. Links to this post. Tuesday, September 13, 2011. I finished a small child's quilt.more like a warm wrap for a baby. The top is pieced in several star blocks that were designed by Jean Biddick. I took a "Picky Piecing' class from her and I really learned alot from the techniques that she uses. My points are as close to perfect as I can get them. Monday, August 22, 2011. It has been a great week, I worked in a happy and friendly environment, with no drama. I was able to sew at home and get some projects completed, as well as going on errands and dining with my Mom. Yesterday Bill and I took her to El Charro restaurant for her Birthday dinner.88yrs old. Sunday, October 20, 2013. For Christmas table. I want to make this table runner in some very shiny fabrics- but I didn't want to practice the 'how-to' on the fabrics, so I made it out of my stash fabrics, and now after I bind it, I can use it at Christmas. The hearts and the 4 leaf hearts are done as in a trapunto technique. All but the putting of parts together were done in the embroidery hoop on my Bernina 830. (I love that machine when it behaves so nicely). I will be teaching this method in November.

Sunday, June 23, 2013. Practice, Practice, Practice. It is Sunday, I have been Zentangle crazy this week. I have done several 'tangles' on paper, today I decided to try my hand at sewing a Zentangle design. First I cut an 8" block out of top fabric, batting and backing fabric. I took my sketch pad to a table and started sketching. When I was finished with the paper design I took the white top fabric, used a Frixion fabric marking pen and then drew the same design on the fabric. What do you think? Picture...
