In recent years we`ve turned more to built-ins because freestanding furniture comes from the Far East for thruppence and many people can`t tell the difference. Most local hardwoods and softwoods are suitable though in practice there`s an element of “needs must”. We build cupboards to suit the space you have available (not six inches short but with a veneered chipboard filler piece at extra expense). Can you rough sketch?

If I could choose I`d make handsome, odd-shaped trees into nice but not fussy furniture. Simple without being plain: natural without being naïve. Not too fine a finish but not self-consciously rough either. Happily that is what a lot of people want so we work with our customers to match their ideas with our approach. Thursday, 23 July 2015. Thursday 23.07.2015. The sun tried in vain to get through the grey clouds this evening. And there was a cool breeze but it was mercifully dry and an excellent cobweb banishing jaunt. There was a bit of blue sky as we turned for home and later in the evening there was a brief burst of sunshine sending great long shadows across the fields. And just now, with a glint of light remaining, there`s a beautiful demi-moon suspended in the south west and a few stars just appearing.
