My Cottage Garden: May 2014

http://dianescottagegarden.blogspot.com/2014_05_01_archive.html

May 30, 2014. Almost the end of May! It's hard to believe. The temperatures have been so nice for the last week that everything is coming along very nicely indeed. It's also Fertilizer Friday, so I'm linking up with Glenda at Tootsie Time. To show what's blooming at my place today. I don't have a lot of new things in bloom today - the tulips and daffodils from my last last post are still going strong and the lilies of the valley are ready to burst into bloom in the days to come. Rehomed" into my garden.

September 22, 2014. Linking with Judith again, at her beautiful gardening, tea (and much more blog) Lavender Cottage. Check out the other lovely mosaics there. Clockwise from the upper left is 'Bowl of Beauty' peony, rudbeckia, 'Pandora's Box' daylily, 'Bressingham' coral bells, and double shasta daisy with little friends. September 15, 2014. I'm doing my first 'Mosaic Monday' post, joining Judith at her lovely Ontario garden blog,. AND they provide the big drifts of colour that I so dearly love. Bees, B...

My Cottage Garden: August 2014

http://dianescottagegarden.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html

Late Season - Full Glory. August 29, 2014. Usually the 'full glory' time would be a little earlier than now, but maybe only a week or two. The most colourful time in my garden has always been the late summer. That's when the perennial phlox come out, the rudbeckia and coneflowers are still out and a few daylilies are hanging on. Here are some pictures taken over the last few days. Taken from the border around the 'future firepit' with the back border in the background. Purple coneflower 'Ruby Star'.

My Cottage Garden: April 2014

http://dianescottagegarden.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html

Early Beginning to the Gardening Season (Indoor Seed Sowing! April 1, 2014. I received this cool indoor seed growing kit for Christmas from my husband's sister and her family. (Remember 'Chia Pets'? I asked my good friend, Paula (who grows excellent tomato plants from seed) if today was a good day to start indoor seeds. She said that April is indeed seed planting month and this wonderful advice 'and, the absolute best time to plant is when you have the time and enthusiasm! The instructions were quite cle...

Friday, August 15, 2014. 4H County Fair projects. Every year, we tell ourselves that there will not be any last minute projects made for the county fair. And EVERY YEAR, the kids are scrambling to finish all of them and get all their goals written, photos printed to show the process to the judges, etc. Oh the joys of motherhood, and procrastination! Today, I wanted to show you all what they made.and some other projects that I saw in other booths that I found awesome. One blue, one pink. Using feathers fr...
