The Adventuresque Lives of Jeff and Katharina: Garfield and Odie
http://dirkkirk.blogspot.com/2011/11/garfield-and-odie.html
Wednesday, November 2, 2011. Sandbags along the Ping River. Riverside Restaurant. We ate here with Karen and Teancum, and Andrew and Jen. How high the water was above normal. In the background is a news crew with the governor of Chiang Mai. It was hard to drive around the city and stay dry. The first place we stayed. Right near da beach, BOY! There were many other islands surrounding Ko Lipe. View from our bungalow. Weather was off and on, but it was beautiful to watch the clouds and rain. November 4, 20...

The Adventuresque Lives of Jeff and Katharina: February 2011
http://dirkkirk.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html
Monday, February 7, 2011. Oh man, it's definitely much more effective to update frequently. Too many things to blog about now. While we were still on Borneo (yeah, it's been that long since we've updated), we saw an amazing place called The Semenggoh Wildlife Preserve. Again, if you want to see pictures you can check out Kat's facebook. I have been doing hourly work for a company called NES. Coffee plantation on the way down Doi Suthep. The one that required 10 stitches is on the inside of her lower lip.

http://dirkkirk.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html
Saturday, November 29, 2008. Welcome once again to our sporadically updated blorg! Only a couple more months and we'll be back home in the good ol' U.S. and A! It's pretty unbelievable how fast the time has gone. The only new news is that we're planning a trip to China in January. A friend of mine at the climbing gym just got back from a 6 week trip to Yangshuo, China where he was teaching little kids how to climb. He showed me his pictures, and the area looks really, really neat! Most of you have alread...

http://dirkkirk.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html
Friday, December 19, 2008. A Camping Trip and a Cooking Class. Jeff and I discovered this really cute place, called San Kampaeng Hotsprings. kind of in the middle of nowhere. We had read about it in our climbing book because it happens to be close to the climbing crag but for some reason we had just never bothered to go there. So last weekend we decided we should check it out. and it was AWESOME! How could it possibly get better? We even learned to light our food on fire. hahaha. Friday, December 19, 2008.

The Adventuresque Lives of Jeff and Katharina: July 2011
http://dirkkirk.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html
Friday, July 22, 2011. It's too much work to write about everything in detail from the last approximately 6 months, so this entry will be short and sweet (I hope). Some photos from our apartment. In March, Kat and I were offered a one-month position at an international school in Bangkok. Field trip to crocodile farm. Field trip to dinosaur museum. Groups competed to see who could make a mummy the fastest. A visit from spiderman. Getting ready to add vinegar and baking soda. Our bungalow on the beach.

The Adventuresque Lives of Jeff and Katharina: October 2008
http://dirkkirk.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html
Friday, October 10, 2008. Ah hello again. Just wanted to give a quick update on what we've been up to. So, a couple of weeks ago I broke down and got a membership to the lowest of low quality rock climbing gyms in Southeast Asia. The one and only gym in Chiang Mai, and by far the worst gym I've ever seen, but I'm slowing starting to grow bulging, popeye-like finger tendons in my forearms again. How exciting! We have just finished our first week in our 3 week Thai language course. It's been so fun! The Ad...

Friday, September 24, 2010. This time it's a post for real.haha :). The blog has been officially revived! After that we went to a neighboring island called Bohol. It's famous for its "Chocolate Hills" and a small monkey-like creature called a Tarsier that has huge eyes and is incredibly cute! Anyways.here are some pictures, they're in backwards order though :) :. We found a huge bull frog on the stairs of our jungle huts. Fresh coconut water. :). A really cute tree frog. This is a tail-less whip scorpion...

The Adventuresque Lives of Jeff and Katharina: April 2008
http://dirkkirk.blogspot.com/2008_04_01_archive.html
Friday, April 18, 2008. A slice of Pai. Song Kran was fun, but… After a two or three days of being sopping wet all day long we decided to get out of Chiang Mai. Kathy said she really just felt like a slice of pie, so we went to Pai. Kathy just told me to write that. We rented a scooter one day and visited some of the waterfalls in the area. On the way to one of the waterfalls we drove through a hilltribe village where all the people in town kept offering us opium as we drove past. Oh, one of the coolest ...

The Adventuresque Lives of Jeff and Katharina: January 2009
http://dirkkirk.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html
Sunday, January 25, 2009. Sunday, January 25, 2009. Wednesday, January 21, 2009. Hills Upon Hills, Karsts Upon Karsts. So here we are in Yangshuo, in the Guangxi province of China. We've been here for just over a week. It's absolutely gorgeous. The little town is surrounded by karst peaks with the Li river running through it and the Yu Long river nearby. Many of you have probably already seen our pictures on Facebook so I won't post too many here. . Even though Yangshuo is really not your typical China,...

The Adventuresque Lives of Jeff and Katharina: February 2009
http://dirkkirk.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html
Monday, February 2, 2009. I've wanted to cry twice in the last 24 hours. Once when I realized that I'd have to pee into a plastic bag on the bus in China. The other, out of pure joy, when I saw a noodle soup stand on the street by our hotel in Bangkok. As for the story of peeing into a plastic bag on the bus in China, a blog will not do it justice. For real. However, I will be thrilled to tell the story when we're back in the U.S. We're leaving tonight for Krabi/Tonsai. Monday, February 02, 2009.
