His Eminence Gongkar Dorje Dhenpa Rinpoche is the present throne holder of Dzongpa, a branch of the Sakya tradition of Tibetan Buddhism. The seat of Gongkar Choede Dorje Dhen in India is situated near Dehradun. Lhokha Gongkar Choede in Tibet was founded in 1464 by the highly renowned saint and scholar, Dorjedenpa Kunga Namgyal (1432-96).
