Here I share code patch that adds it and also I provide some basic CSS to make optgroup and it's options to stand out. Wordpress- create uniqe slug based on title for custom table. If you need uniqe slug for your plugin's or theme's custom table, you can use this Wordpress "style" function. Read my about page.

Maybe someone finds this code helpful when in need of adding optgroup support to jqTransform. Originally jqTransform didn't support optgroups in select element.
