I started this project last summer with my Surface Pro 3 when I was pretty bored in a country house without any internet connection. The Surface unfortunately was not powerful enough to run any fluid sim, so I started playing with nodes a bit random in Houdini and I ended up with a sort of rotating tiles grid. After finishing this I realized how many similar effectors there are for Max, Maya, C4D and Houdini. Anyways this is my own version hope you like it!

Wall Collapse – Houdini. It’s been a while since I posted something here, so this is a test that I did recently to improve my skills and to add some Houdini stuff in my reel. The breakdown is pretty long but you can get an idea about my workflow. Like Houdini’s philosophy the entire system is totally procedural so you can change the original geometry and play with parameters. I hope you like it. Done in Houdini 12.5, rendered in Mantra, comped in Nuke.

Exponential and linear colour mapping in Vray.
