A key issue in smart sensors is their ability to communicate with others. This allows building sensor networks that collect information from the environment. We are especially interested in applications for health care, for instance we work currently in a system to track the spine posture.

Different questions related to the use and performance of tactile sensors are faced in this research line. First, tactile sensors are quite error prone and have low linearity, hysteresis, drift and mismatching between tactels. Therefore, a main research task consists in developing algorithms able to compensate such errors. Moreover, we are also interested in knowing what information obtained from the tactile sensor is more relevant at the application level.
