What are the requirements when changing over a switchboard? RCD’s are required on all socket outlet and lighting circuits. Bare earthing conductors are required to be insulated with green sleeving or heat shrink. Tape is not suitable unless held in position with a cable tie. All main switches and circuit protective devices are required to be labelled as to what they control. All cables must pass through close fitting holes and the switchboard must be fire proofed.
