Sunday, May 31, 2009. Freestyle basics old old level 1 review. 1 take saddle etc to back paddock. 2 Try at liberty: touch it to saddle. 3 friendly with pads. 4 saddle from the off side. W/back to horse's shoulder, rest saddle on left hip w/left hand holding cantle and right hand supporting the front, under the front panel. Sway the saddle back and forth. Swivel on right foot and let momentum carry saddle up. practice with english saddle first. 5 Cinching: 3 stages. Hold rein and mane short but not tight.
