Sunday, October 26, 2014. This is just a quick note to say I've moved the blog to http:/ www.esposetta.com. Please update your readers and bookmarks. See you there! Saturday, August 9, 2014. Can you believe I've been knitting almost a year? I can't. I picked it up last September: two skeins of Madtosh DK in Calligraphy were all it took to reel me in. Now it's a full-blown obsession, and I spend more time on Ravelry than is probably healthy. I'm an amazing photo stylist. Look at those props! I love the co...

Queen City Stitcher: March 2014

http://esposetta.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html

Saturday, March 1, 2014. I wish I had a completed project to show you guys this weekend! I'm in the middle of three very different, all fun projects I'm working on right now, and while they're all great, not a single one is complete. First, I've been working on my Grace cardigan since the snow came a couple weeks ago. I know, I never blogged about it, but we got about nine inches of snow the week of Valentine's Day and I had a lot of time to putt around the house! But you can see my Ravelry notes here.

Queen City Stitcher: January 2014

http://esposetta.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html

Saturday, January 25, 2014. That means, despite the half-yard bundles of both Catnap and Sweet as Honey I just purchased, no sewing for me until mid-February. Which is really sort of a bummer, because I'm ready to start on another selfish project, given all the gifts and commissions I've made lately. But I guess that just means I have more room for knitting, right? I thought, instead of my typical Completed Project posts, I would share my knitting stash with you! Queen City Stitcher: Two New Mini Quilts

http://esposetta.blogspot.com/2014/07/two-new-mini-quilts.html

Friday, July 25, 2014. Two New Mini Quilts. I recently moved into an office from my cubicle and immediately set out on a decorating adventure. I don't love blank walls- especially blank walls that are painted a cement color, bleh. So I knew I'd make mini quilts to cover the boringness. And let's not mention the 16-pack of dry erase markers that found their way into my Amazon cart, along with a pair of gingham-print scissors and a coffee mug with Lucy Van Pelt on it. The other quilt I made is another Mode...

Now it's a full-blown obsession, and I spend more time on Ravelry than is probably healthy. I'm an amazing photo stylist. Look at those props! I'd like to buy more Solemate to make him more socks, but that's not really a priority. Selfish knitter over here. Both of his socks were made with the book Socks From the Toe Up.

Sewing, child taming, getting it done. Let me see that jelly roll. (To the left, to the left…). January 13, 2014. Another member of my guild showed a very similar quilt in a slightly different palette a few months back, and I was really taken by its impact, despite its simplicity. So, voila. Well, new for me. I saw this flower pattern on Elizabeth Hartman’s blog. OUTSTANDING. Okay… it’s not that great. But it’s better than I’ve ever done before. Well, okay. it&#821...Here’s the whole package for Pr...

Squaring Up: May 2013

http://squaringup.blogspot.com/2013_05_01_archive.html

Stitching stories in cotton and wool. May 27, 2013. It was a really productive weekend at my house! The holiday didn't give me a reason to slack off; instead, I got quite a bit of sewing done! The April do.Good Stitches blocks needed to be sewn up. I originally had plans to make two baby quilts, but I only received blocks from about half of the members, so I only had enough for one crib-sized quilt. I also sewed the quilt top for the Rainbow quilt I mentioned last week. It worked out really well! As of, ...

Sewing, child taming, getting it done. Monthly Archives: December 2013. Fun with half square triangles…. December 1, 2013. Way back in September, I took a class at Sewing Summit taught by the fabulous Amy Smart where we learned a super fast way to make half square triangle blocks. (Long story short: stack two squares, draw a diagonal down the middle, sew a quarter inch away on each side, then cut on the diagonal line, … Continue reading →. Let me see that jelly roll. Sewing, child taming, getting it done. Everybody loves an upgrade…. May 1, 2013. So my youngest goes to a preschool that has had the same Very Hungry Caterpillar activity for like 15 years. Basically, you have a caterpillar, and you make it go through all the food in the book. It’s a cute idea, but THIS was their caterpillar. Seriously people– a dirty old gym sock with a face drawn on it. And that brown circle? The food was really super fun to make. First, the fruits. I free motioned the seeds on...Oddly...

Finished: Stockinette Flax Sweater. September 30, 2016. I think this is the most fun sweater I've ever made. Speckles that look like sprinkles - what could be better? This yarn is the Plucky ninth anniversary color, Sprinkles on Top. It was a mystery colorway released in June and I passed on it for one reason or another (let's blame baby brain). Once the spoiler pictures started popping up- speckles! I was so itchy to cast on this sweater! I wanted to see the speckles- I was dying to! I'm not sure what t...
