http://www.speci-angler.co.uk/2015/01/back-to-barbel-tale-of-three-rivers.html

One thing I have been doing a bit this year is sticking a small bright "sight blob", for want of a better word, on top of the hair rigged boilie. Carp anglers have been doing this for donkeys years so why not barbel? With the fish returned I finally sat down and made another cast. Again it was only a matter of minutes before ...

Just when you think that you've seen it all. Go and fetch your mum son. An hour later his twin brother put in an appearance. A Specialist Anglers Diary. The story so far. Sunday, 27 April 2014. A chub finale - Derwent days and nights. It's fair to say that I've struggled to keep up with my blog over recent months, mostly down to other commitments but I also find that when I get out of the swing of writing it can be hard to break back into. Hence I have a number of part written blogs sitting on my pc as yet unpublished, including one that was 95% written on an Indian beach way back in January! A rank winter dominated by floods ...

A Specialist Anglers Diary. The story so far. Sunday, 24 August 2014. A tale of tench, carp, and brick walls - blog update. Remember the Pringles advert, once you pop you can't stop? What could of been. So I hadn't been seeing things after all. Well you won't hear me complain at the capture but I was starting to wonder what on earth I had to do to catch a barbel, I certainly seemed to be on a rather bizarre run of sessions so far that's for sure. Erm, you aren't a barbel are you. Posted by Rob Thompson.

A Specialist Anglers Diary: River Derwent chub - on a mission for a monster
http://www.speci-angler.co.uk/2014/01/river-derwent-chub-on-mission-for.html
A Specialist Anglers Diary. The story so far. Saturday, 11 January 2014. River Derwent chub - on a mission for a monster. My brother with a typical Soar chub from our childhood. My dad with a Soar monster! Typical Soar chevin of latter years. Once again it was a fish that I could match up as one that my dad had caught on the first day of the season at 5lb's exactly. The scales pulled round to a tidy 5lb 8oz and gave me a new personal best, this little campaign was starting to take off. 27 January 2014 at...
