For those with ears to hear. Ministry Practicum for the Twelve. Dirty Hands are Better than Dirty Hearts →. June 9, 2013. Sometimes people disappoint. Leaders, family, friends, coworkers, you name it and they will disappoint you somewhere along the line. Pre-election expectations turn into post-election reality. The heir to the throne squanders what was previously gained and misery grows instead of lessens ( 1 Kings 12. As long as there are people in the world, there will be disappointment. This is all g...

For those with ears to hear. Behold His Majesty →. Ministry Practicum for the Twelve. May 18, 2013. The purpose of Ministry Practicum is to allow students in ministry to gain valuable and practical experience by serving in the local church. It is getting out of the classroom and actually doing the things one is learning; and that’s where we find the twelve disciples/apostles. Will you risk believing it is worth the cost? Kent Hughes says,. Comfort-seekers have never done anything for Christ and his kingd...

For those with ears to hear. Auf Wiedersehen My Friend →. Dirty Hands are Better than Dirty Hearts. September 5, 2013. When asked if I would like to see what a Petri Dish looks like after the kitchen sink has been swabbed first, I decline. Thankfully, my daughters and I will benefit from a cleaner and healthier way of living; thanks babe. In our text, Jesus doesn’t skip washing his hands at the Pharisee’s house because of hygiene, but because of hypocrisy ( vv.37-38. Or how about this:. After metaphorica...

A Parable of the Heart | thecornfedpastor

For those with ears to hear. That’s my miracle) →. A Parable of the Heart. April 13, 2013. Until recently, the connection between the Sower and Johnny was (for me) in the way they haphazardly threw their seed on the ground. No self-respecting farmer would be so careless and then expect a crop. Well, Johnny didn’t plant like that. And the Sower in our parable did do it, but it was for effect. Maybe there was even a chuckle as the hearers pictured a farmer tossing seed everywhere he could imagine. These fo...

For those with ears to hear. Dirty Hands are Better than Dirty Hearts. Auf Wiedersehen My Friend. February 27, 2014. The other night, while putting my 16 month old daughter to bed, I was captivated by the cute little sleep noises she was making. Pachelbel’s Canon in D. Was tinkling in the background and the snow was lightly falling outside. The juxtaposition of the young life in my arms and the passing of a friend recently set my mind to thinking about the past. My friend Erich was 11 months older than me.

For those with ears to hear. Newer posts →. He’s Not Here! April 1, 2013. Wrong I was able to reply with my own sad tale of woe when my 1991 GSX-R 1100 went missing back in early 90s. The shock of walking out of a bar and seeing a station wagon parked where my bike once stood was enough to stop me in my tracks. Dazed, I stood there, then walked behind the car and eventually looked under it, not wanting to believe that it was gone. But, who ever said the Gospel made sense? Yet the angels say,. Remember ho...

For those with ears to hear. He’s Not Here! A Parable of the Heart →. April 4, 2013. Great imagery. Watching (or reading) of the Fellowship’s reaction to the loss of their leader paints a vivid picture of how the disciples may have felt at the crucifixion of their Messiah and friend. Cleopas and his companion may have been through those raw emotions since Good Friday was only a couple of days prior and still fresh on their minds ( vv.13-14. When hope is crushed the heart is crushed. Are they in a person?
