Filth Wizardry: Paper plate angels
http://www.filthwizardry.com/2008/12/paper-plate-angels.html
Dec 13, 2008. This idea comes from something I remember very fondly from my childhood. When I was little my mum got some printed cardboard angels that were quite tiny, probably only 2 inches tall at the most and the amazing thing to me was that they required no glue and were made from a single circle of card. Mum still has them I think, but they are probably quite battered after 20 odd years. Labels: at the kitchen table. You have provided my kids with so many craft ideas since I discovered this wonderfu...

Filth Wizardry: Bathtub Ice Cube Curling
http://www.filthwizardry.com/2014/02/bathtub-ice-cube-curling.html
Feb 10, 2014. Bathtub Ice Cube Curling. It's the new craze. You heard it here first! Well, maybe not, but it is kinda fun and silly. We invented this slightly daft take on the Olympic sport of curling. Last week. The weather here has been atrocious and rainy day ideas were needed. The Winter Olympics in Sochi are now in full swing, and if letting the kids play "Laundry basket Luge" on the stairs is a little too terrifying, pop on over to the post I've got up on Alphamom.com. Filth Wizardry: Home made Christmas tree decorations
http://www.filthwizardry.com/2009/12/home-made-christmas-tree-decorations.html
Dec 20, 2009. Home made Christmas tree decorations. We just got our tree yesterday. Very exciting for the kids indeed, because we've never had a proper Christmas tree in the house. Mainly due to being jetlagged squatters in the UK over Christmas, and last year we just got a teeny potted tree that was a foot tall. This year, we went for the main event though. Nice 4ft tree that we could decorate. Hooray! Turns out it was going to be ok, so we went to get our tree. Yes, it was all over the place. When the ...

Filth Wizardry: Salt dough ornaments
http://www.filthwizardry.com/2008/12/salt-dough-ornaments.html
Dec 12, 2008. Salt dough has been done to death every holiday season by kids for years and years, and there's a good reason for that. It's because it's fab! Yes, I need a cup of tea within two feet of me to accomplish anything. Thank you to Sara for letting us borrow all her many Christmas cookie cutters! Nifty tip from preschool teacher: Use a drinking straw to cut out the holes for hanging the ornaments with! Here are some pics of the teeny christmas tree decorations I made after the kids had gone to b...

Filth Wizardry: Toilet roll tube valentine's necklaces
http://www.filthwizardry.com/2010/02/toilet-roll-tube-valentines-necklaces.html
Feb 7, 2010. Toilet roll tube valentine's necklaces. I know, it sounds too glamourous to be true doesn't it! When I had the idea, I wasn't sure if my girls at three and five were going to be able to do this without getting cross at the thread and beads being fiddly, but they actually did pretty darn well. My three year old had no desire to make her necklace symmetrical, but she still happily threaded all the beads herself. My five year old made lots of necklaces with different designs. I reckon this woul...

Filth Wizardry: Cardboard Christmas trees
http://www.filthwizardry.com/2008/12/cardboard-christmas-trees.html
Dec 13, 2008. I'm sure I've mentioned this numerous times, but we regularly pilfer cardboard from Costco for our art and craft projects. It's like giving the cardboard an extra day to bask in the sun before sending it back to the recycling. This year we cut out some Christmas trees and let the kids paint them green with watered down food colouring. Labels: at the kitchen table. OMG what a great idea for the little ones :0).
