Anz Art and Random Thoughts: I think I'm back...
http://elhabreart.blogspot.com/2012/09/i-think-im-back.html
Tuesday, September 4, 2012. I think I'm back. Embarrassingly, it's been a number of years since I've posted anything on this blog. Lots of life changes, loss of creativity, lack of focus or purpose, and personal upheaval probably did not contribute positively to making or writing anything meaningful here. I am starting to enjoy looking at art again. Exhibit. If you've never heard of it - you must go educate yourself and then participate. I am making one for 2013. I have bought new art supplies. The sketc...

Anz Art and Random Thoughts: Why am I up this early...?
http://elhabreart.blogspot.com/2012/09/why-am-i-up-this-early.html
Saturday, September 8, 2012. Why am I up this early? Titus, my cat, woke me up this morning. He'd been out patrolling his "'hood" and apparently was extremely famished after chasing away the potential threats to his territory. He'd been let in as Jason was on his way to work - at 6:30. On a Saturday. Not cool. Titus in his natural state. Lights are no deterrent from a proper nap. However as the weeks went by, we discovered that Titus actually talks a lot. And he is very very loud. Because, why? I can hea...

Anz Art and Random Thoughts: September 2012
http://elhabreart.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html
Wednesday, September 12, 2012. Can you start an artist's salon in a ranch-style house? Would the Ramones, Patty Smith, or the Talking Heads ever existed if CBGBs had been a bar in a Howard Johnson's in Newnan, GA? This is of course provided the likes of those folks would have ever lived in a town like Newnan. Or if CBGBs had been a bar in Howard Johnson's somewhere in New York City? Could the Surrealists have convened at a Wafflehouse and still have made the impact they did? Used car lot. While the c...

http://elhabreart.blogspot.com/2008/06/ok-so-i-was-going-to-try-and-do-sort-of.html
Monday, June 23, 2008. Ok - so I was going to try and do a sort of step-by-step as I painted this piece, but as you see, it didn't work out that way. I don't paint in a very orderly fashion like some people and then I don't remember to stop and take pictures at the appropriate times. Thus, there is no-step-by-step. But here is "Moon'. I can't wait to see this up close in the book. It will totally be the best. July 2, 2008 at 10:13 PM. So glad I finally checked out your blog - beautiful work! Thank you, f...

Anz Art and Random Thoughts: March 2008
http://elhabreart.blogspot.com/2008_03_01_archive.html
Sunday, March 30, 2008. American Consumption Art - Be Prepared for a Guilt Trip. I found a link to the art of Chris Jordan. While searching through the "Art" section. The piece above was done with cans - the average number of cans Americans. Throw away in 30 seconds, which is about 106,000. Although not to scale - most of Chris's pieces are an impressive size. Which then leads to the argument, isn't it just as wasteful and presumptuous to. Illustrate waste on such a grand scale? Monday, March 24, 2008.

Anz Art and Random Thoughts: What I saw over the weekend...
http://elhabreart.blogspot.com/2012/09/what-i-saw-over-weekend.html
Tuesday, September 4, 2012. What I saw over the weekend. I saw this brilliant piece over the weekend. It's part of a traveling exhibition from the Talladega College's murals that were part of commission by the artist, Hale Woodruff. What's interesting about the murals in particular is that the artist drew heavily on Mexican art , drawing on the dynamics and bold color so often found in the art of that time and location.
