Git Repository via Apache II | Feral Chicken

https://feralchicken.wordpress.com/2013/02/23/git-repository-via-apache-ii

Take a walk on the wild side! Git Repository via Apache II. Posted in Figured Out. I made a previous post. About serving a git repository via Apache, and the method of delivery was WebDAV. Fast forward a couple of years and I find myself trying to use the same setup on our lab machine. In the end, it doesn’t work: in spite of everything, a. Will always fail due to some error locking a refs file. I ended up giving up on WebDAV and going with git-http-backend. Mod cgi, mod alias, mod env. Fill in your deta...

Japan travel #3: Sausage at Kyodai | Feral Chicken

https://feralchicken.wordpress.com/2014/06/28/japan-travel-3-sausage-at-kyodai

Take a walk on the wild side! Japan travel #3: Sausage at Kyodai. This is picking up from my last Japan travel. There are a lot of loan words in the Japanese language, and this can be convenient, endearing, and absolutely frustrating at the same time. Add in the fact that Japanese love to abbreviate things and you’re assured to never have a dull moment. The convenient thing about loan words is that Japanese has specific notation called katakana that explicitly indicates foreign words. The. A view from th...

Git repository via Apache – Take 3 | Feral Chicken

https://feralchicken.wordpress.com/2014/08/30/git-repository-via-apache-take-3

Take a walk on the wild side! Git repository via Apache – Take 3. Posted in Figured Out. I revisited an old post. That I wrote to see how to host my own private git repository with Apache, but I didn’t write any details and made it hard on myself, so I’ll try to fix that here. Anonymous read access, user/password protected write access. Step 1. Enable the prerequisite modules. RewriteEngine On RewriteOptions Inherit. Step 2. Set up the git repositories. Bin/bash if [ $# 1 ] ; then echo Usage: `basename $...

Diary #23: Trying to face forward | Feral Chicken

https://feralchicken.wordpress.com/2014/08/26/diary-23-trying-to-face-forward

Take a walk on the wild side! Diary #23: Trying to face forward. I often find myself getting into this mood where I want to do something that I know I should have spent more time doing, but out of fear of how much it’s going to hurt because I had put off doing it, I end up putting it off even further. It’s my nature to care more than I should about what other people think, and combining this with the negativity I mentioned ends up being very debilitating. Diary #22: A lot of little things.

Diary #22: A lot of little things | Feral Chicken

https://feralchicken.wordpress.com/2014/07/20/diary-22-a-lot-of-little-things

Take a walk on the wild side! Diary #22: A lot of little things. Well, it’s hard to blog about a lot of little things, so I’ll clump them all into one. Since publishing the vim addin as a standalone plugin, people have starred the repo on github. I feel obligated to go to work on it and also a little guilty for not spending much time on it. Maybe dedicate an hour or so daily to looking up the API and jotting down plans on the wiki so that the project actually has a freaking pulse. Enter your comment here.

Arbinger Systems: The Missing GObject Tutorial Sample

http://arbingersys.blogspot.com/2009/07/missing-gobject-tutorial-sample.html

Wednesday, July 22, 2009. The Missing GObject Tutorial Sample. Well, perhaps not exactly, but still - I think it should work. I've recently started poking around the GObject library, which is part of GLib. GObject is a C library aimed at. Providing OOP programmability that easily integrates with (usually) dynamic third-party languages. Basically, it allows you to write "glue" code between. And the GObject library just once, and then hook into any libraries created with GObject without writing further glue.

chicken whisper

Saturday, October 8, 2011. Only a few, curious and confused, linger by the opening now. The process has gone more quickly than they predicted. “Don’t be surprised if they’re still around for a few days,” said Gerhard. “When the workers return, they may gather at the opening and form a clump,” said Chris, “but then they’ll calm down and go inside.”. My daughter first noticed the bees: “MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM! THERE ARE BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES IN MY CLOSET! Next stop, internet. I found out pretty quickly that g...

Feral Chicken - a webcomic

Onday, Sep 22nd, 2008. Jump to a Storyline:. Back To The Bar. A Hawk Walks Into A Bar. How To Be A Ninja. A Deal With The Devil. Winter At The Lake. To Lay An Egg. Has it been four years? Yes, nearly enough. 589 comics, about three per week for four years. I can't recall where I was headed when I started doing comics, but I've enjoyed it more than I can say. But all good things must come to an end, and so too, has Feral Chicken. And that's how it normally was for me. In the coming months to find out.

Feral Chicken | take a walk on the wild side!

Take a walk on the wild side! Since my old hosting provider’s west coast servers just went dark and they were unresponsive to support, I decided to transfer my domain away, and now I am pointing it to a new virtual server. I’m going to try publishing my own site using Jekyll through there:. I probably will shift all my blogging there since I will now be able to blog from the comfort of my own terminal. We’ll see how it goes. Two weeks ago, I went to Paris to attend the 2014 CGAL developer meeting. Conten...

The Feral Chickens

Monday, June 27, 2011. Little Mr. Pluto and Today's Japan. Since the start of the nuclear boom in the 1970s, Japan's utilities have relied on temporary workers for maintenance and plant repair jobs, the experts said. They were often paid in cash with little training and no follow-up health screening. This practice has eroded the ability of nuclear plant operators to manage the massive risks workers now face and prompted calls for the Japanese government to take over the Fukushima. What parents need to know about babies, toddlers and teens. This content shows Simple View. When You Have Nowhere to Call Home. January 6, 2015 1:30 pm. I would inevitably question why I was the only white kid or at least one of a handful. There were not many other white children where I grew up. I honestly felt out of place.
