Saturday, 30 May 2009. Had a really good day today. Lifting was bye-the-bye really and it was good just to be around people who are interested in the same thing as you. I didn't get nervous, I didn't get too bothered about wearing the most ridiculous leotard in the world, infact I'd say that my mind was as clear as it ever has been when it comes to lifting. Thursday, 30 April 2009. Oly Lifting and KBs. Was back over at Maurice's garage yesterday (Wednesday) for a quick spot of KB action. Short and sweet. TGU - 2 x 3/3 @ 16kgs. MP - 3 x 3/3 @ 16kgs. Windmills - 3/3 @ 16kgs. Sw/Sn - 2 x 3 mins @ 24kgs 15 on 15 off. The way he speeds through the barbell exercises he gets a bit of conditioning anyway.but nothing like the KB ballistics! Wednesday, 3 June 2009. Snatch, snatch and snatch again! Snatch - 5 x 3 @ 38kgs (roughly 70% 1RM). Vo2max Snatches - 30 rounds of 15:15 @ 16kgs KB. Total - 240 in 15 mins. Good little session - the Snatches felt easier at 70% than the C&Js the other day. The vo2max stuff is coming back to me as well. This wasn't too bad though with a lack of carbs I felt very drained rahter than out of breath at the end. I'm quite confident that I can work up to 60 sets in the next couple of weeks. Wow Sickness, holidays, exhaustion from my night watchman job (that I finally quit after 13 months) have all conpsired to keep me from training for 3 full weeks. Today I got back on the horse with a renewed commitment to simple and effective training that fits my schedule and my ability to recover. 53lbs KB TGU: 15 minutes alternating L/R. CoC Grippers: Trainer for 3 sets of 5/5. I am also greasing the groove with pull-ups and pistols again.
