Monday, January 7, 2013. Manicure Monday: Nude for the New Year. I hope you had a nice, back-to-your-routine weekend. My weekend was mostly lazy, but I did a lot. Of blog work as well. So I don't feel as recooperated as usual, but it was time well-spent. Did anyone realize that there was no Manicure Monday post last week? Yeah, neither did I. I completely spaced it, seeing as last Monday was New Year's Eve. Oops! Saturday, January 5, 2013. Growing my Blog, Growing my Heart. Oh well, I like it! The first ...

July 10, 2015. In west Philadelphia born and raised. Hey look, you guys! And it's not a book review or running post! I kept telling myself that I needed to write a post after I went to see my best friend in Philadelphia. I had so. Much fun, but I just kept putting off writing about it. It won't matter if I wait a week before writing it," I thought. HA. I flew out on June 11th, and it's now July 10th. A week. Are essentially the same thing in the grand scheme of life, right? Do it, but I had a feeling I w...

danielle in the city: My Passions
http://danielleinthecity.blogspot.com/p/my-passions.html
God has laid a lot of things on my heart, and you'll likely see me bloggin about them, so to give you an idea of what I'm most passionate about and what you can expect to see on my blog, I decided to create a page dedicated to it. These are things that get me fired up, be it politically, emotionally, or spiritually. Kids with disciplinary issues. Health and wellness - and the epidemic of unhealthy lifestyles we've adopted in America. The juvenile justice system. Racism - both systematic and intentional.

danielle in the city: How God Put me Right Where I'm Supposed to Be

Tuesday, October 29, 2013. How God Put me Right Where I'm Supposed to Be. We decided to request hospitals. Many of the jobs out there are in healthcare, and I have ZERO experience in healthcare, but a TON of experience in education. Seeing as how education jobs are hard to get but healthcare jobs are a-plenty if you've got the experience, I thought it'd be worthwhile, for practical purposes. At first, my supervisor insisted I work with adults, because, if you don't know I DONT LIKE WORKING WITH GROWN-UPS.

danielle in the city: August 2013

Monday, August 19, 2013. C'est La Vie de la Nouvelle Orleans. As always, coming home makes me instantly want to pack my bags and put down roots somewhere near Magazine Street and Louisiana Avenue (and actually. that just might happen next summer). In my perfect world, I'd pop back and forth between the two seamlessly. If ever I had one of those financial situations in which I could spend money without thinking of it, that's exactly what I'd do. So a few things I'll be praying about over the nine months:.

danielle in the city: June 2013
http://danielleinthecity.blogspot.com/2013_06_01_archive.html
Friday, June 7, 2013. My point in pictures. Today I was running extremely late to an assignment in one of my poorer neighborhoods, and therefore didn't have time to pack lunch (nooooooooo! So come mid morning when I wanted a snack, I ventured to the school vending machine. Bloomberg has ordered all schools to have "healthy options only" vending machines, so I'm all "this can't be too bad.". But actually, it can. First of all, why on earth is there artificial coloring in my food? Danielle In The City.

Monday night in a very rainy Central Park, my very favorite music artist of all time performed live, and I got to see him for the bazillionth time. If you are unfamiliar with Troy "Trombone Shorty" Andrews and his band Orleans Avenue, please click here. Good ones. F...

Begin Anyway: Salute to summer
http://beginanyway.blogspot.com/2015/08/salute-to-summer.html
August 5, 2015. Today is the last day of my summer break. It's almost become a tradition for me to put together a little recap. Of my summer break. It gives me a chance to sit back and think of all the fun. I've had, no matter how short my break felt. I know, I know. I should appreciate. The fact that I get a summer break because most people in the adult world don't get to experience one. I should relish. In the idea that I have 2 months off from work. I should shut my mouth. I do enjoy it! To see BFF Je...
