kartklan capers: June 2009
http://kartklancapers.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html
Monday, 8 June 2009. On Saturday I facilitated a workshop at Step by Step Patchwork Centre. In South Molton on a very simplified way of piecing curves. Having completed lots of samples and a finished piece all well in advance I decided, at the last minute, like you do, to make up a "sample" of how well this technique would work for a landscape. kartklan capers: Back in the Northern Hemisphere
http://kartklancapers.blogspot.com/2009/05/back-in-northern-hemisphere.html
Sunday, 10 May 2009. Back in the Northern Hemisphere. And I haven't been completely idle! Have been doing some dyeing, yes MORE dyeing. The method for dyeing these was given to me by a kindred spirit,(thanks Vinnie). But honestly if you work it out on paper first it's simple, just a challenge to write! Water, salt and soda solution was then added to each cup. The dye from each cup was then transferred to a plastic bag and a fat quarter(ish) was added to each bag, left overnight and voila!

kartklan capers: May 2008
http://kartklancapers.blogspot.com/2008_05_01_archive.html
Thursday, 29 May 2008. And now for something completely different. Bought these jumpers, all pure wool, handwash only. Washed them in a rather hot wash (intentionally) and now they're a shadow of their former self. I'm going to make a bag from the hood of the blue one first, storage again! Not sure what the other two will end up as, will await inspiration. Links to this post. Then there were three.again. Free machine applique, machined cords, buttons and beads were then added as embellishments. This time...

Emmelinesplace: British Patchwork and Quilting
http://emmelinesplace.blogspot.com/2013/12/british-patchwork-and-quilting.html
I love to create. Often I just create a big mess. Occasionally I create something useful. On rare occasions I get really really excited. I love old buildings, especially old ruins and when I remember to take my camera out with me, I share photos. Tuesday, December 24, 2013. British Patchwork and Quilting. My work isn't on the front cover this time :( But I have words, the 'NEW from old' is my article. Happy bunny dancing again. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). On the cover again.

I love old buildings, especially old ruins and when I remember to take my camera out with me, I share photos. Monday, April 29, 2013. Do you ever wish? I am suffering a crisis of confidence. I can dye fabric. I haven't for a few months, but how hard can it be to return to something I have been doing for years. It seems it can be very hard. Links to this post. It is amaz...

kartklan capers: Repurposing books.....
http://kartklancapers.blogspot.com/2009/04/repurposing-books.html
Tuesday, 21 April 2009. On a rather lovely day out in Melbourne with my sister visiting the particularly trendy Fitzroy Street, Brunswick street and Rose St Market we spotted some tired, and in some cases rather battered books (well just their hard covers) that had been given a new lease of life, that of a delightful notebook. A button and tie was added as I always tuck loose bits of paper into any notebooks used and they inevitably fall out! What a great idea, true recycling, I don't think i need to go t...

kartklan capers: March 2009
http://kartklancapers.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html
Saturday, 28 March 2009. Screenprinting can be addictive. The tape used on my sketch book cover was printed with this piece, hence the "blank" line running through! And finally just had to make up a fabric basket using some of my new treasures. Links to this post. More scraps to use up! Decided to use the bits of fabric left over from my basket making extravaganza to make a long awaited sketchbook cover. The appliqued leaves were from fabric I stamped a spiral onto using a rolled up kitchen sponge! When ...
