Recipe By :Alan Barasch. Serving Size : 12 Preparation Time :0:15. Ingredient - Preparation Method. Raspberries, frozen - defrosted. Coffee, brewed - strong. Mascarpone Cheese - softened. Preserves - room temperature. Brew the coffee very strong; like expresso. Add the cream to your mixing bowl and beat until stiff. Add the mascarpone cheese and whip to stiff peaks. Line a pretty bowl or trifle dish with the ladyfingers separated into parts with the cake side in and the crust side showing through the bowl.

Recipe By : Alan Barasch. Serving Size : 12. Preparation Time : 0:30. Categories : breakfast dessert pastry. Combine cheese, sugar, vanilla, flour, orange zest and juice, and cinnamon in mixer or food processor. Mix just until combined thoroughly. It will be thick. Set aside the wet mixture in the refrigerator at least 30 minutes. Mix water and 1 egg to make an egg wash. Brush each pastry sheet. Take one pastry sheet and spread cheese mixture in an even amount to within 1 inch of edge.

Alan’s Poppy Seed Strudel. Talk about an easy recipe. Takes about 30 minutes to prepare but the results are spectacular. The main recipe is for the twisted strudel pictured. I will also mention the other things I made since the can of poppyseeds goes a long way. Makes about 1 pound. 1 pkg frozen puff pastry dough, defrosted according to label instructions. I ve been buying the ZegGüt or Mazor brands at my international grocery that comes as 5"X5" squares. 1 sticks unsalted butter. 1 can Solo Poppy Seed.

I started making baklava in about 1980 when I learned the technique from a Lebanese co-worker (pronounces it Ba-lay-wa). I refined my recipe with Turkish, Greek and other versions.
