After more than a week in Pokhara, I had seen how popular it is here. You can see anywhere from half a dozen to 30 paragliding chutes floating over Sarangkot, one of the prime day hikes near Pokhara. I'm on the road…. February 25, 2010 in Uncategorized. At 7:30 am dozens of us were waiting in the fog for our bird-watching canoe trip. Yesterday I spent the whole day in Chitwan National Park. In the morning I took a canoe ride to go birdwatching. The canoes are dug outs created locally from a single log. A cormorant, I think. A bull elephant on his way to work. Tourists do these kinds of trips in packs so I rode in one of a convoy of jeeps. We saw lots of crocodiles and some wild boar and lots of d...

Next I met Ilona, an Israeli woman who is on an extended trip through Nepal, India and the Far East, trekking and volunteering at orphanages.
