The Trust receives and appreciates donations from a wide range of organizations and individuals. In particular we. Acknowledge our major donors. They comprise; Devonport and Newmarket Rotary Clubs, and the Royal New Zealand Returned and Services Association. The Trust enjoys charitable status with the Inland Revenue Department. Individuals donating $5 or more are entitled to claim a 1/3 rebate up to approved maximums. Companies are entitled to a deduction for cash donations up to approved maximums.

Mt Victoria is the highest of Devonport's volcanic cones at 87m and was selected for the Observation and Control Post for local coastal defences. In 1885 four 64 pounder muzzle loading guns from HMS Nelson were emplaced on a terrace on the northern face of Mount Victoria, Takarunga. Railway lines were used to bring the guns up the hill, which was successful in every case but one, which saw one of these 3 tonne guns hurtling back down. For a tour Contact Us.
