Welcome to Friends Of The River Nene Website. Please browse at your leisure! Welcome to our first mooring, Islip Dave. The mooring was kindly donated by Dave Sands, hence the name. It is located between Thrapston Road Bridge and Islip Lock. Islip Dave is land locked which means there is no access to Thrapston on foot. Is has good depth of water so we welcome all crafts. You are able to camp and can have BBQ's but please be careful. Remember to use your mooring pins on all of our moorings.

The mooring is next to the Nene Valley Ski club. There is road access via the A45 which is 5 minutes away, you are able to drive to the mooring however we ask that you close the road gate and watch your speed when passing through the ski club. Of September, a meeting was held and it was said ‘let there be friends on the River Nene’. This is how the FOTRN’s dream started. Our main focus was to improve the facilities on the River Nene for all users and that membership would be open to any individual, who shares our passion for the river.

Monday, 22 June 2015. Into the paint shed. Much earlier than we had planned. This morning, we drove up the A1M early, to clear the roof, and front and back decks. Kris, the painter, wanted the boat in the paint shed today. It didn't take long to get the boat ready for moving, and the rain held off until we were ready to go to lunch. The paint shed is newly-erected, across the lake from where we are moored. We're looking forward to cruising to the boat festival in Northampton. Which is your favourite?
