It started with a Frock…. Infrequent Thoughts on Food, Fashion and Culture. 719 hours, 31 minutes (of Frocks). Remembering Krystle →. Last, but not least. November 12, 2011. I have only just realised that I didn’t publish the post about my final frock for Frocktober! It serves me right for not reading my own blog. Here it is, in all its (anticlimax) glory. Even though we had a largely Halloween themed office for October 31, I made a strong decision not to wear anything black, or witchy. Thanks again to e...

Improvising Win: Hair Bow as Brooch. While deciding what to wear to host a dinner party last night, I really felt the need to add a brooch to my outfit to pull the look together. I guess I need to start collecting brooches because I realized I had none. I have one vintage flower pin that I repurposed recently but the color and style didn’t match. Craftiness to the rescue! I used this hair bow tutorial. Try this out next time you are caught in a brooch-less situation. But this post is very important to me.

http://muchlove-anna.blogspot.com/2011/10/friends-for-frocktober.html
A girl should always feel beautiful when she puts on her favourite dress, right? Let's celebrate that. In the spirit of Frocktober. I have asked a number of my blogger friends to show off their favourite frocks, and tell me about it. So a big thank you goes to the following 10 super gorgeous ladies for helping me out. 9829; ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥. I looked for so long for a black winter dress, covered in red roses and in the New Look full skirted style, that I thought I was never going to find it! This dress is vintage...

Fox in a Frock: October 2010
http://foxinafrock.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html
Fox in a Frock. It's a frockin' good cause! Thursday, October 28, 2010. Finally up to date with my posts.this frock is one I bought from Savers, but one of those expensive Savers items I'm usually repulsed at (paying over $10 at Savers.no thanks! Also, my necklace, which is nearly impossible to see, was given to me by my grandma. It's really beautiful, but delicate. So I probably won't wear it all that much. SoI didn't get a photo of my work dress today. But it was the same one I wore on Day Fifteen.

Viva la Frock: Day 24: Just one of those days...
http://vivalafrock.blogspot.com/2011/10/day-23-just-one-of-those-days.html
Monday, October 24, 2011. Day 24: Just one of those days. The frock came from an antique store of sorts on the Hawaiian island of Kawaii. I've had to mend it several times as the thin cotton is so worn it keeps tearing so I'll try and make a mending post soon to show you just how easy it is to repair small tears (as long as you're not a perfectionist). In other news, it's my darling sister's birthday today - so Happy Birthday! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Viva la Frock: Day 26, 2011: hump day
http://vivalafrock.blogspot.com/2011/10/day-26-hump-day.html
Wednesday, October 26, 2011. Day 26, 2011: hump day. Libby's frock is another fabulous find from Mitchell Salvo's. Originally it came from Valley Girl, or a similar cheap teen store, and when she found it she was astonished they had manufactured something so conservative, and almost classy. No doubt it was cast off by a dissapointed teen in favour of somthing shorter, tighter and brighter. Libby's win! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Viva la Frock: Day 30: the penultimate day
http://vivalafrock.blogspot.com/2011/10/day-30-penultimate-day.html
Sunday, October 30, 2011. Day 30: the penultimate day. Libby and I headed into the Canberra Museum and Art Gallery today to check out an exhibition called Fashioned Here: the business of fashion in Canberra. It featured some classic frocks including the original Sylvia Parson's mannequin Sally, Tracey Lord hats and a Phuan Thai. Dress which Libby and I purchased from the St Paul's Anglican Church op shop. Hey, can't help the girl for trying! Dress I got from the Darling Sisters. After taking numerous pho...

Viva la Frock: Day 27, 2011: art crate orange
http://vivalafrock.blogspot.com/2011/10/day-27-2011-art-crate-orange.html
Thursday, October 27, 2011. Day 27, 2011: art crate orange. Getting ready for the National Museum's Open Day. Our stores are looking spick and span, ready for the general public to see the many treasures in our collection. Today I wore a skirt I made from a Kimono House pattern. It's a wrap skirt with a contrast waistband and front panel. I made it from a Bula shirt. I got from an op shop (surprise, surprise! In my tea break, I played some ukulele with my favourite conservator!
