Thursday, March 14, 2013. My comma key randomly stopped working so no commas in this post.please don't think I'm an idiot). Well lookee here.two posts in one week! Maybe I can get back into this blogging thing again after all. Don't hold your breath. This year I've been working on being a better housewife even while I'm working. I've made excellent progress. I've had some major setbacks in this department due to not being capable of managing my own stress. Overall I've made improvements though. I think a...

The Lazy Perfectionist: September 2012
http://thelazyperfectionistexperience.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html
Friday, September 7, 2012. Using Observations in the Writer's Notebook. At first, some students balked at writing down things they wonder about. Some students claimed they didn't wonder about anything. Others filled up more than one page. Some of the great observations from my students were: "I wonder why God made my face so handsome." How about "Why are bubbles round and not square? Or "Why does the Easter bunny unnaturally produce eggs? The classic: "I wonder what my little brother's IQ really is?

The Lazy Perfectionist: January 2013
http://thelazyperfectionistexperience.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html
Wednesday, January 9, 2013. If listen carefully you can hear my Steve Urkel voice announcing "I'm Baa-ack! I haven't done much blog reading either. I've kind of taken a much-needed break from the blogosphere in general. But when I was home for Christmas, a very dear friend of mine encouraged me to get back into blogging. so here goes. I've been easing my way into this month by tackling a couple of big problem areas. So far, I've banned sugary treats for the month of January, started a 1200 calorie a ...

The Lazy Perfectionist: Introducing the Writer's Notebook
http://thelazyperfectionistexperience.blogspot.com/2012/09/introducing-writers-notebook.html
Wednesday, September 5, 2012. Introducing the Writer's Notebook. I have officially completed my first two days of my 4th year of teaching. They were utterly exhausting, but incredibly rewarding. The first activity I had them do was "History of a Name." I got this idea from the great book entitled Notebook Know-How: Strategies for the Writer's Notebook. Let me know if you've tried Writer's Notebook in your classroom. I'd love to hear your ideas! September 7, 2012 at 9:22 AM. I LOVE that youre focused on b...

Author Archives: His Stirrings. February 19, 2016. Thank God our newest addition, Flint, finally did arrive on Christmas Eve, 2015. He is a total blessing and joy to our family. Something about having new babies around makes me very reflective. My heart feels full of things I could write here. Have you seen how quickly light can change everything around you just because of a cloud blowing in front of the sun? Have you watched a tall tree sway violently at its top but stay still and steady at its base?

Balance | His Stirrings
https://hisstirrings.wordpress.com/2015/05/26/balance
Surprise Baby →. May 26, 2015. Thankfully, God is teaching me one simple truth that is slowly and steadily working it’s way into every crevice of my being. There IS an important balance to be found in life, and that is the balance between letting go and holding on. In every area of my life, and in my life as a whole, I have choices of what to let go of and what to hold on to. Will I let go of my selfishness and hold on to serving others in love and joy? Will I let go of my will and hold on to God’s?
