Putting it all on… | Getting Schooled
https://futureteachergetsschooled.wordpress.com/2014/04/02/putting-it-all-on/comment-page-1
Putting it all on…. I’m in the process of getting prepped for THE FULL TAKEOVER OF RESPONSIBILITIES and it is…difficult. Being able to flit in and out of the classroom because of my courses was a misleading experience. It really only gave me a glimpse of the bad days, days like the ones we have been having in my kindergarten classroom. Do they understand I do it because I want that recommendation for a job next year? Is that even what I need to do or is it supposed to be this complicated? I think I need ...
New Beginnings | Getting Schooled
https://futureteachergetsschooled.wordpress.com/2014/08/11/new-beginnings
I’ve always loved the beginning of a new school year. New pencils, new notebooks, the feeling of a fresh start. I’ve been living this new beginning every September for 18 years, but this year’s a little bit different–I’m starting it as a teacher. The job has begun…. I signed up for redditgifts for the Teachers. More than filling my classroom with supplies and making it feel comfortable is the weight of… well,. I keep telling people, “I’m new, so I don’t really know anything! But I’ve decided this f...

You Know Better | Getting Schooled
https://futureteachergetsschooled.wordpress.com/2014/03/04/you-know-better
8220;You know better.” It’s something I often to say to my kindergarteners when they’re doing something they should not be…and know it. Depending on the student, it immediately ends the unwanted behavior (usually something like pushing or not sharing or talking in line) but for others, I’ve realized that even if they know better, they just don’t have the skills to. Better. For example…. Unfortunately, last week and today have made me question, how can we better help Liam be a good classroom citizen?

Where I’m at. I have also found myself to be a lot more comfortable in front of the classroom and with that I have been able to be much more flexible in my teaching. I feel as though I am much more in tune with what my students are needing and how to adjust my plans to fit those needs. March 13, 2014. One Comment to “Where I’m at”. March 19, 2014 at 9:34 pm. Difference Among Schools | teacherintraining21
https://teacherintraining21.wordpress.com/2014/02/22/difference-among-schools
One of the schools I have been in, which to my knowledge was the lowest income school I have been in, was the best at drawing on its community support. They utilized all of the supports in their community to help their school families in any way needed. They connected families with cultural centers, affordable housing in the area, and almost any other support that was needed. February 22, 2014. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. Tabletop Movie Making | teacherintraining21
https://teacherintraining21.wordpress.com/2014/02/01/tabletop-movie-making
In a time when there’s never enough time in the classroom, how can we fit in time for creativity and movie making? Answer: Tabletop movie making. These kits allow you to go from nothing to a short video in the matter of a couple of hours. The set up is simple enough that students will pick it up almost immediately. The best part of this, however, is the fact that the focus remains on the writing aspect instead of the technology. February 1, 2014. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here.

January 25, 2014. One Comment to “The Table”. January 26, 2014 at 2:32 am. It’s so powerful to remember that while it’s incredible to see students learn and understand the ways they think, we are also learning right along side them. Thanks for sharing!
