GIMP Tips, Tricks, Tutorials and Techniques - -. Keyboard shortcuts can be a great time saver when working within GIMP. Rather than navigating through the menu structure to find what you are looking for, if you learn some of the common shortcuts it will increase your productivity greatly. File Menu - Shortcuts. Create a new Image from Clipboard. Edit Menu - Shortcuts. Past as New Image. Fill with FG Color. Fill with BG Color. Select Menu - Shortcuts. Create a Floating Selection. View Menu - Shortcuts.

GIMP Tips, Tricks, Tutorials and Techniques - -. New View in GIMP. When working on large images I am often zoomed in to 400% and only viewing a small portion of the image. This makes it difficult to see any changes in context to the entire image. You could of course zoom in and out to see the overall effect of your changes to the image (the novelty of doing this will soon wear off). The easy answer is to use the View New View. Make your Photos more Vibrant. Running Photoshop Plugins in GIMP.

GIMP Tips, Tricks, Tutorials and Techniques - -. GIMP Toolbox always on top. Using GIMP for Windows you may have noticed that the toolbox is always on top. You maximise your image window and the toolbox stays on top obscuring part of your image. Some may argue that this give you access to the toolbar whenever you need it. Personally I find it annoying. You can change this default behavior from Edit Preferences Window Management. Change the Hint for the toolbox. From the default of Utility Window.
