MGCF Linux Machines

In 175 Tan Hall, there are eleven powerful workstations running Linux. Each has 8-24 core, high quality nVidia graphics and plenty of local disk space. All of the workstations have 24 inch LCD Monitors. These workstations are called: gravel, wilma, barney, betty, slate, stone, bambam, lava, bronto, rubble and fred. The College of Chemistry has a site license for ChemDraw Professional 15.1 (changed from ChemBioDraw Ultra 14 in 2015). Chemistry, Visualization and Related Software. We have eleven good quality Linux workstations. These are gravel, betty, wilma, stone, bambam, barney, slate, lava, fred, rubble and bronto. These all share the same software suite with a few rare exceptions. We have a compute cluster called dino. And/or ask for help. The notes below refer to software as available on 1) linux workstations or 2) dino (the compute server). Which are recommended reading prior to using ADF. See the ADF User Documentation page.

We have an HP Photosmart Pro B9180 Printer. Available in 175 Tan Hall. The full specs are here. In case you wish to buy your own paper. You should email us the part number or web page describing your paper so we can verify if it is compatable with our printer. We stock 8.5x11 and 13x19 in paper. The print resolution is up to 4800 x 1200 dpi color when printing from 1200 input dpi. The printer can do borderless printing. Back to the Graphics Facility Home Page.

Printer: HP Designjet Z6200 printer in MGCF. Location: MGCF, 175 Tan Hall. The MGCF is a computational chemistry facility with a small staff (2 scientists). We do poster printing as a side business. At least one of us is usually.
