About SU Kendo Club. Syracuse University Kendo Club. The origins of the SU Kendo Club go back to the fall of 2007, when a few individuals with previous experience in kendo decided to have casual practices on the weekends and eventually formed the first Syracuse University Kendo Club. After Samuel Rivier’s departure from SU in 2008, Jose Ramon Pineda took over the presidency of the club, which was transferred in 2010 to Daniel Yoon. Gary Luong is the current President of the club.
