A tall dude who rides too much. September 2, 2009. Ke’e Beach view from the Kalalau Trail. A highly endangered Monk Seal. Wailua Falls (173 ft). Outlying Kapa’a Town seen from Nounou Mountain. Two weeks in Kauai was wonderful. We did some hikes, some sightseeing, a lot of snorkling and a ton of just chilling on the beach. Soundly slept 9-10 hours every night with the sounds of the ocean in the background and the Trades blowing through our condo. Laquo; Laramie Enduro Garmin Track. A Little More Kauai.

We showed up Friday night at the Canyons for the racers meeting. Pretty un-eventful other than I have never been in a room with a skinnier bunch of mofo’s in my entire life. A tall dude who rides too much. December 21, 2009. The shoulder season doldrums are over and winter has arrived. Friday was 2 hours of skating at Mt Dell. Saturday was 2 hours of skating in PC with Rhonda. Sunday morning was a quick tour in East Bowl. The snow was quite nice. Fresh tracks in 8-12″ of sweet sugar snow. Laquo; Thanksgiving comeback. I have been using a new sealent. The stuff works great for sealing a new tire on your rim but I am not sold on it's ability to plug holes. I have worn out a set of tires, a rear hub, a cassette and a pair or two of shorts. Have not had much to blog about. I think Facebook takes all of my blog mojo. After screwing up some moderately technical rocky sections I managed to go over the bars twice on the preride. Down Jamie's trail, up Canyon Hollow and then down Ghost falls and back to my house. Let the Big Doug Eat. Monday, August 31, 2009. 264 Trail Work on Saturday. Saturday morning we went and did a bit of work on Jamie's new trail. The trail is cut in from the top of Clark's. Down to the old Corner Canyon road. Total it is probably about three quarters of a mile. I rode it last night and it is going to be fun. Right now it is loose and bumpy but a bit more riding and maybe a bit of rain and it is going to be very fun. The trail winds around almost like a bmx. Thursday, August 27, 2009.
