Admission to hospital

If you require admission to hospital for surgery, you will be admitted to The Royal Free Hospital in Hampstead, north London. You can find information about The Royal Free Hospital at this web site. If your surgery involves a general anaesthetic or sedation, you should stop eating 6 hours before but you can drink clear fluids up to 2 hours before the time of your operation. There are no restrictions regarding food and drink if you are having an out-patient procedure or local anaesthesia.

He was appointed Consultant/Honorary Senior Lecturer in the University Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Royal Free Hospital in June 1990 and has worked there ever since. Prior to that he worked as Clinical Lecturer in the Nuffield Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Oxford.
