Here at Hangman Hill

Here at Hangman Hill. Monday, February 5, 2018. Although it was very cold on Saturday, we did make it out on our cross-country skis. We decided to try out a different location and took Zealand to Bear Notch in Bartlett NH where all the trails are dog-friendly. The grooming was fabulous and we were able to explore most of the standard trails. However, going off trail was hazardous with lots of ice under a very thin layer of powder. Here at Hangman Hill: March 2015

http://hangmanhillnews.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html

Here at Hangman Hill. Tuesday, March 24, 2015. Sheris Visit with Michael in Wyomi. Sheri spent a long weekend in Wyoming with her brother Michael. There wasnt much snow so they did a few walks locally; one had great views to the Uinta Mts. They also did some home renovations to progress the kitchen project. Michael is a good host, makes a mean fish taco and his stir-fry is worthy of a return visit. Walk in Evanston,WY. Posted by Bruno and Sheri. Sunday, March 22, 2015. On the trail again. Here at Hangman Hill: Hiking in New Hampshire

http://hangmanhillnews.blogspot.com/2015/07/hiking-in-new-hampshire.html

Here at Hangman Hill. Saturday, July 11, 2015. Hiking in New Hampshire. We spent the July 4th long weekend in New Hampshire at the chalet. We saw lots of extravagant fireworks (Kokee didn't like the noises much), finished installing cabinets in the kitchen, and went for a hike on Kearsage Mountain (North). The bugs were starting to subside and it was a great day to be in the mountains. Flora of some type. View from the summit fire-tower. Cooling off in a stream. Posted by Bruno and Sheri.

Here at Hangman Hill. Sunday, October 19, 2014. Enjoying Fall Color at the Chalet. We closed on our Chalet in New Hampshire on Columbus Day of last year (2013). The fall colors were well past peak so we didn't have the chance to see fall colors locally. This year the fall colors have been spectacular. Photos from the past few weeks capture some of our time enjoying some local trails and color. Color near Iron Mountain. Kokee on a trail near the Chalet. Late afternoon color (Kokee's view from her bed).

Here at Hangman Hill. Sunday, November 30, 2014. White Thanksgiving in the White Mountains. We spent Thanksgiving at the Chalet in New Hampshire and had a wonderful surprise on Thanksgiving morning. We awoke to sunny skies and 10" of powder! We were so pleased we had picked up our Jackson XC ski passes the day before. The conditions were superb! We ended our stay in New Hampshire with a late afternoon ski with a trail headed towards Black and Eagle Mountains. We consider two days on skis before Decem...

Here at Hangman Hill: August 2015

http://hangmanhillnews.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html

Here at Hangman Hill. Saturday, August 29, 2015. A few weeks ago we signed up for a paddle on a local salt pond after work. The goal was to look for bioluminescent jellyfish that glow when they are disturbed by the canoeists paddle. We didnt see any jellyfish but we did have a good time paddling in the warm water as the sun set on a perfect summer's day. Posted by Bruno and Sheri. We finished the day in Portsmouth with a harbor cruise which was a treat for everyone (including Kokee). Once back in Connect...

Trip Reports from the Okanagan: April 2015

Trip Reports from the Okanagan. A diary of backcountry skiing and climbing trips near Kelowna BC. Sunday, April 05, 2015. Vaux Moraines to The Overlook Bowl. Posted by Andrew Parker. Our third visit to The Overlook Bowl this year. This time we finally got around to going in from the top. Blue line roughly shows the way. It was a stunning day. The open creeks were a reminder that winter was rapidly melting away. We made our way up past the toe of the moraine and towards the Sir Donald bivy site. Just a tr...

Trip Reports from the Okanagan. A diary of backcountry skiing and climbing trips near Kelowna BC. Monday, May 18, 2015. Posted by Andrew Parker. We made the trek into the Glacier Circle Cabin over the Victoria Day long weekend with Nick. There was just enough snow remaining for us to ski right from the car. But only just. We started out under clear skies but the visibility crapped out by midday. Once over the glacier we were forced to start hiking through the rockier parts of the trail. Dave asked us to ...

The 10th anniversary of our annual November trip to the Asulkan cabin. There was a little less snow than usual this year but come along anyway. Cuz there will be snow. I promise. No problem. There will be snow. More snow than you can shake a misery stick at. With good friends and good times. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). The Adventures of Ryan.

Trip Reports from the Okanagan. A diary of backcountry skiing and climbing trips near Kelowna BC. Sunday, June 14, 2015. Mount Sifton SE Ridge. Posted by Andrew Parker. Brian met us at the Visitors Centre in Rogers Pass on Saturday to hike up to Hermit Meadows. Still plenty of snow. We dug out a platform under gloomy skies. And got a brew on. While Brian went full "competent camper" and arranged everything to be within reach of his comfy bivy sack. Next morning dawned nice and clear. Mount Sifton SE Ridge.

Trip Reports from the Okanagan. A diary of backcountry skiing and climbing trips near Kelowna BC. Sunday, June 29, 2014. Okanagan Mountain Park by Mountain Bike. Posted by Andrew Parker. The ride to Divide Lake is a grind but mostly harmless and Divide Lake itself is a beautiful spot. Things start getting more interesting on the Mountain Goat Trail. But at least there were a few chances to actually sit on the bikes. Sinkholes fallen into: 1 (Brenda). Ditches somersaulted into: 1 (Brenda). Motivation ran ...

Between Christmas and New Year we spent a few days in Rossland with our friend Mark. I worked with Mark several years ago in the tech industry and we have kept in touch through the years.
