The following donated items are always needed by our clients:. Teen’s and children’s clothing. Men’s jeans, underwear and socks. Backpacks – adult size. Clean blankets, bedding, and towels. Larger size women’s clothing. Women’s underwear, new or like new. Toys, books, games. House wares-dishes, cups, silverware, pots, skillets and baking pans in good condition. Paper grocery bags with handles. Items for hygiene kits.

Volunteers are the lifeblood of the organization. Helping Hands has no paid staff. Our sixty volunteers come from a wide variety of backgrounds, and range in age from teens to some in their 80’s. Volunteers donated over 7,700 hours during 2013. Helping Hands volunteers have these common traits:. They demonstrate sincere empathy toward all people. They are committed to being a team player. They demonstrate good social and communication skills.
