Trials of a Casual War gamer: August 2016
http://trialsofacasualwargamer.blogspot.com/2016_08_01_archive.html
Trials of a Casual War gamer. Saturday, 27 August 2016. Last night me and the wife popped over to our friends for games night. All about smaller quicker games this time. First up was a game called Alpaca pace paca. The aim of the game is to have the best looking Alpaca with the longest neck but no dirt or you lose points. You start of with small Alpaca and every turn you can take 2 cards (without showing anyone) discarding one and adding the other to your Alpaca or take the whole discard pile. Not a lot ...

Trials of a Casual War gamer: Bolt Action Mid/Late War Infantry
http://trialsofacasualwargamer.blogspot.com/2016/11/bolt-action-midlate-war-infantry.html
Trials of a Casual War gamer. Saturday, 19 November 2016. Bolt Action Mid/Late War Infantry. Throughout the week I've been working on British infantry box set. The British Airbourne units I already own were solid models so required no assembly. However this box sets contains options for many varieties of soldiers. Obviously being new to bolt action and didn't really know what to aim for and there are a lot of sprues! My officer and 2 body guards with SMGs. No in game effect but I like it anyway. Great fu...

Trials of a Casual War gamer: Busy weekend
http://trialsofacasualwargamer.blogspot.com/2016/11/busy-weekend.html
Trials of a Casual War gamer. Monday, 14 November 2016. Next up was a large game of x wing! 2 large squadrons were assembled. The empire had slave 1 and 4 tie aces the rebels had the millenium falcon, an E wing , b wing and an a wing. My forces were in white as they haven't been painted yet just under coated as you can see I suffered from a lack of cover where as the Germans were well dug in. My other squad did not fair so well as it had more open ground to cover. In bolt action (as I'm sure many of ...

Husband. Father. Geek. Gamer.: Games Workshop: Masters of the Unexpected
http://husbandfathergeekgamer.blogspot.com/2015/07/games-workshop-masters-of-unexpected.html
Husband. Father. Geek. Gamer. Or, how to paint miniatures with a wife, kids and full time job. Thursday, 9 July 2015. Games Workshop: Masters of the Unexpected. Well, we didn't see that one coming, did we? What am I referring to? Warhammer: Age of Sigmar. So, what do I think of this new game? You know what, I actually really like it. However, due to the high buy in cost, and requirement for an absolute shedload of miniatures, I never got very far with it. Age of Sigmar, however, changes all that. Gon...

Trials of a Casual War gamer: Zombie books
http://trialsofacasualwargamer.blogspot.com/2016/10/zombie-books.html
Trials of a Casual War gamer. Thursday, 27 October 2016. Not quite miniatures but hey it's Halloween and some bloggers are doing zomtober so I thought I would waffle on about a series of books I've been reading. The first 2 books are the strongest in the series the fourth book seemed a little bit rushed I felt but still enjoyable as it carries on the story. If you like zombie books give these a try! 29 October 2016 at 02:27. 1 November 2016 at 19:48. I enjoyed ghost run but it did feel a bit rushed.

http://trialsofacasualwargamer.blogspot.com/2016_06_01_archive.html
Trials of a Casual War gamer. Wednesday, 29 June 2016. X-Wing Miniatures Millenium Falcon. For fathers day the kids bought me a Millenium falcon to add to my rebel fleet. I was going to wait for the heroes of the resistance pack (milleniun falcon from the force awakens plus poe's black x wing T70) to come out but its ages away yet and impatience over came. The tokens and cards are great quality with excellent art work and have been popped out and sorted into my x wing storage. Game board phase 3. Hopefu...
