The Home Economist: Liberty Edition

The Home Economist: Liberty Edition. Monday, April 30, 2012. In Praise of the Competitive Spirit. I just read an article at the website Elephant Journal.com entitled "When Competition Wins, Everyone Loses". Lawrence Reed of the Foundation for Economic Education. And when combined with cooperation (not instead of it), where ideas blend and merge in to something altogether new and even greater than the sum of its parts, life as we know it has the possibility to change. The Home Economist: Liberty Edition: Libertarian Haiku

http://www.homeeconomistliberty.blogspot.com/2011/08/libertarian-haiku.html

The Home Economist: Liberty Edition. Thursday, August 18, 2011. A little hobby of mine is writing topical haiku poetry*. This is what I came up with. No masters, no slaves. I make my own way. Laden with thick chains. Under the guise of safety. I can hardly move. Pop goes the bubble. And the State is the bandit. I hold my head high. For my burden is heavy. But my heart is Free. I would rather be. An enemy of the State. Than of my neighbor. Left versus the Right. A play produced by the State.

The Home Economist: Liberty Edition. This library of helpful and education links is a work in progress. I am shaping it be a table alphabetized by topic with a growing list of links in each group. Inequality of Wealth and Incomes. Index of Economic Freedom. Index of Income Equality. Restoring Liberty with Three Short Laws (North). The Essential Rules of Tyranny (Smith). The State versus Liberty (Rothbard). Please be kind. Trolls belong under bridges. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Vote for Liberty in 2012!

The Home Economist: Liberty Edition: It's Not Easy Being... Red?

http://www.homeeconomistliberty.blogspot.com/2011/12/its-not-easy-being-red.html

The Home Economist: Liberty Edition. Thursday, December 8, 2011. It's Not Easy Being. Red? Recently a very boneheaded article. Was brought to my attention (by the hubster, for my enjoyment), alerting me to the fact that Fox Business was on the attack against my beloved Muppets, calling them communists! This shall not stand, and not just because I've adored the Muppets since childhood, but because the whole premises for both Fox Business' AND HuffPost's arguments are wrong. http://homeeconomistmelissa.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html

Saved Recipes from Magazines. Home Economist: Liberty Edition. I needed a quick yet satisfying project to follow the Christmas sweater, and boy was this it! It's a little keyhole scarf done in brioche stitch, which was a new technique for me. I loved learning it! As you can see, it is a reversible stitch, with the colorful yarn prominent on one side, and the black yarn prominent on the other. Links to this post. A Trio of Sweaters. Saved Recipes from Magazines. Home Economist: Liberty Edition. 24 Hours With a Stray Cat. This certainly isn't my usual kind of post. It's not about something I made, but about something wonderful that happened that I feel is worth sharing. Here goes. We were just on our way out the door, heading to a yoga class together, when there she was, right in front of the door, meowing. The poor thing was obviously hungry. Jeet ran off to get his baggie of food from the car, and. So what are you, a dog? Who knew ...

Saved Recipes from Magazines. Home Economist: Liberty Edition. At last, the final part of my Winter 2013 accessories is finished, hopefully with plenty of time left in the season to wear them all! This was my first time knitting full gloves, rather than just little fingerless mitts. Not too hard, really. This pattern is also from Knit Picks, and it's called In Touch Gloves. Links to this post. Saved Recipes from Magazines. Home Economist: Liberty Edition. A garden, a scorpion, and a mystery bird. This past Sunday was "planting day" at our community garden, and I'm hopeful that this season will bring a delicious bounty. I stopped by today to trim off some oregano and chives, and to decorate with some personal touches. It's from a Kentucky craftsman I mentioned in last year's post, Rich Kolb of Yardbirds. Anyway, here's what's growing:. Maybe you can help me out. As you can see, it's not complet...
