Fred Minier Howell

Fred Minier Howell, 80, of Merritt Island, Florida, passed away Sunday January 15, 2012. He was born in Buffalo, New York, the youngest of five siblings. He was the third consecutive generation to graduate from Cornell University (in 1951), earning a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He would later go on to earn a Masters Degree in Business Administration. Fred moved to Brevard County in 1977 and after moving away for a time, retired to the area in 1986. Memorial service 12.2.12. Born 19 February 1931.

Susan Dart Howell, 78, of Merritt Island, Florida, passed away Wednesday November 30, 2011. Obituary originally published by Wylie-Baxley Funeral Home, Merritt Island, FL. Memorial service 27.12.11. Born 2 January 1933. Died 30 November 2011. Loving wife to Fred. Elemental force of life.

In disposing of the goods of Fred and Sue Howell following 52 years of marriage and of course further; we came across about 70 old photos from the ancestry of both sides of the family. Photos here range from 1890 - 1960. We are in the process of scanning, cleaning and attempting to identify people in the photos. WORK IN PROGRESS. THIS IS JUST AN INTERIM ‘DUMP’ OF SOME OF THE PHOTOS. Photos from our past.

Fred and Susan’s remains are buried at the Aubrey family plot at Union Cemetery, 8 Schuyler Street, Hudson Falls, New York. ( map. Section 8, Lot 155, grave B. This plot was purchased 14 April 1903 for $27.50 by Mrs W. G. Aubrey of Sandy Hill. Also buried there are Adelaide Aubrey Dart (Susan’s mother 1908 - 1976), Wallace Aubrey (1876 - 1945), Bertha Aubrey (1881 - 1949) and simply ‘Aubrey’ (died 1902). Susan was interred on 30 December 2011; Fred on 15 February 2012. Photos are from Fred’s interment.
