rEiNs LeT LoOsE: The joy of winged flight
http://mutantmuse.blogspot.com/2012/11/the-joy-of-winged-flight.html
Tuesday, November 27, 2012. The joy of winged flight. Have you had a maddening series of ornate still frames in imagination on what your first flying experience could be like? I've had these imaginary frames flash past me every once in a while. Not of terror or uncertainty but of heroic flight and poetic wandering. But then, I am the hero (gender neutral) of my life and I grew up with a slightly filmy disposition. And pretended like I was jumping off a cliff with nothing more than maa ka aashirwaad.

rEiNs LeT LoOsE: India on Rails
http://mutantmuse.blogspot.com/2009/01/india-on-rails.html
Tuesday, January 27, 2009. If you are a touring non-native or an ambitious Indian with a decent pay, chances are you would seldom take the rail route to travel between cities. More so with cheap airlines vying to get your footprints on board their "shoe-string" jets. This one's an attempt to capsule changes she took in while she crisscrossed the face of the nation; for leisure, on job, out of it, as a student and as a kid in an army of wedding-goers. Ma sets about packing food for the 6 meals the family ...

rEiNs LeT LoOsE: Of cooking and writing
http://mutantmuse.blogspot.com/2011/02/of-cooking-and-writing.html
Thursday, February 03, 2011. Of cooking and writing. Two real plain loves of my life. Each one better than the other. My first true experience of cooking a full meal was at 13. I started making tea when I was 8. I watched the tea froth and bubble with the little black grain and let it spill out. Just out of wonder and the aroma that filled the nostrils. I still don't have the dexterity in making a round rava dosa. Though I have graduated to a half-a-dozen other cuisine since then. This one affair require...

Friday, September 05, 2003. Of prickly bums n razzmatazz. A painful marathon has finally ended.FINIS, khallas. Or whatever nicety you may want to call it with. And that I led myself into such advances is witness enough to believe that my brains are rotting. I say, Jane Austen sucks . umm, actually her books suck and make it BIG-time. A quick insight at it:. The protagonist is a lady that could have easily given a run to all dear aunty ji's. What do I get? On the affirmative, I give a thumbs-up to all the...

http://mutantmuse.blogspot.com/2010/08/thank-you-pa-for.html
Wednesday, August 18, 2010. Thank you Pa, For. The innumerous rides on the red front seat of your cycle and the soothing balm you'd apply when I caught my heel in the wheel, everytime i sat on the carrier behind. The mango-shaped booklet we cut out from charts, shaded and sewed together for my Maths project. Nair ma'am gave me an A for the project. The chocolates and trinkets you bought me, everytime we went out together to shop for vegetables. The tiny two-rupee fountain pens that I still own. Not being...

Wednesday, March 31, 2004. SIGH* I still know what I did y'day. Woke up with a start (as usual) and banged my head against the mostly shut door of my room.wonder what makes me imagine it as leaving past heaven's door. Checked if i still had that irritating pimple on my nose.Yippie! It is such a gem o' an. Flashed my sparkling whites (post-brushing).*sigh* why can't they change colors to some exquisite fuchsia or something? Milkmind you, that's the only PINK thing i consciously involve my senses into.

Monday, May 24, 2004. Up above the world so high. S/he's a star in the sky. Seldom did I realize that this. Reel-life hangover will last well over a week now. Presenting! A maudlin me, oven fresh in as much trance as I was when I stepped out of the movie hall. After much preparation and last minute rollbacks, I and a friend were hastily ushered (we were delayed by some 10 mins) into the bright red bucket seats of Europa Lounge. The film in discussion: The Passion of the Christ. Point two: With requests t...
