Let’s try this again. In December 2007, I embarked on an epic journey to try to be a healthier person. I join WeightWatchers, joined a gym, and started blogging about it. My goal was to go from a starting weight of 203 pounds to something more appropriate for my height – and get healthier and more fit. I began like so many others – slowly. My Goodbye to Buenos Aires. Buenos Aires is gray and dreary. It’s as though the city itself is sad at our departure. As if Argentina is crying for us. Despite the trite reference, I have returned the favor and wept for Argentina. I have never traveled to a place for this long and never left with such a heavy heart before. But even in my sorrow, I have a sense of joy for what I have experienced in this amazing city. It has filled my pores and entered my soul. I had no idea that I would want to come back.

I am claiming victory anyway. So, I forgot on Thursday that it was Thursday and it was weight watchers weigh-in day. I was just busy at work, with a departmental all-up meeting and then a lunch for people visiting San Antonio from our New York site. While sitting at the TexMex restaurant and waiting for my two beef tacos and eating the tortilla chips… I said “ah crap! Obviously, after eating, I am not going to go get weighed-in.
