Two Pairs of Boots . and four paws! Saturday, 17 May 2014. Carrying on from our. Apparently, if you believe in legends, there are two immortal fish in this tarn! It poured down on the walk in but the weather soon cleared up enough to dry us off! Here is Holly and I at the stunning Bowscale Tarn - didn't see any fish immortal or not! The cloud obliterated most of the views from the summit. On our way back down, the pic below shows the view over towards High Pike where we walked the day before. Here is a r...

Two Pairs of Boots ............. and four paws!: November 2012
http://twopairsofboots.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html
Two Pairs of Boots . and four paws! Friday, 23 November 2012. Aber Falls, Carneddau Ponies and Moel Wnion. Its a lovely walk down to the big waterfall, and it could be heard some distance off, and as we got under it, it was like standing in the shower. A bit further down the path we came across the first of many Carneddau ponies that we would see on the walk, they are beautiful rugged ponies, that are normally quite shy, but this group were quite tame, and even followed us as we left them. To Hatch a Crow.

Two Pairs of Boots ............. and four paws!: February 2013
http://twopairsofboots.blogspot.com/2013_02_01_archive.html
Two Pairs of Boots . and four paws! Wednesday, 27 February 2013. Crimpiau, Craig Wen and Creigiau Gleision. Moel Siabod with the cold early morning mist clinging to it as we drive into Capel Curig. Looking back to Capel Curig as we ascend Crimpiau. Sharons smiles soon disappeared as we headed up to the clag! A forced smile as we can see not a lot from the top of Crimpiau. Tryfan appears out of the gloom as we descend before climbing Craig Wen. Looked magical over on Tryfan. The dam wall of Llyn Cowlyd.

http://twopairsofboots.blogspot.com/2012_12_01_archive.html
Two Pairs of Boots . and four paws! Saturday, 29 December 2012. Earlier this month I drove down to The Rob Piercy gallery in Porthmadog to pick up Sharon's Christmas present, there is a story behind it which I wont repeat here, but if you are interested it is on Sharon's art blog HERE. But I had the camera with me, got some great shots some of which are below, but they have stayed hidden until now as I didn't want her knowing where I had been! Yr Aran across Llyn Gwynant. Moel Hebog across Llyn Gwynant.

Two Pairs of Boots ............. and four paws!: March 2013
http://twopairsofboots.blogspot.com/2013_03_01_archive.html
Two Pairs of Boots . and four paws! Friday, 8 March 2013. Sharon as we start our ascent on the Miners Track. First views of Snowdon from the Miners Track. Two thirds of the Snowdon Horseshoe. Snowdon and Y Lliwedd. Snowdon across Llyn Llydaw. Snowdon nicely reflected in the one bit that hadn't iced over. Further round where the ice hadn't formed Holly was soon in. Crib Goch . doesn't look half as imposing from this angle. Our route back down was over Y Lliwedd. An ice skating gull on Glaslyn. Bingley to ...

Two Pairs of Boots ............. and four paws!: January 2013
http://twopairsofboots.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html
Two Pairs of Boots . and four paws! Monday, 21 January 2013. Drosgl and Aber Falls. But we did it. We walked back skirting Moel Wnion, and back to Aber for a welcome coffee and Bara Brith in the lovely Cafe. A great walk in really testing conditions, not a day for faint hearts in the snow and freezing winds, but great to be out and also again we saw some of our favourite wild Carneddau ponies, how they survive in such harsh conditions is amazing. The bridge on the Afon Rhaeader near the start of the walk.

Two Pairs of Boots ............. and four paws!: Back in Lakeland
http://twopairsofboots.blogspot.com/2014/05/back-in-lakeland.html
Two Pairs of Boots . and four paws! Tuesday, 13 May 2014. As Gary and I were in Lakeland to see the screening of 'Life of a Mountain' about Scafell Pike on Saturday we decided to take the tent and make a full weekend of it. The weather wasn't looking great but we were very lucky and managed to dodge the majority of the showers over the weekend. There were two big sticks sticking out of the summit cairn of GMF - one of them you can see here in Holly's mouth! That's Little Mell Fell in the background.

Two Pairs of Boots ............. and four paws!: Back in the fells!!!
http://twopairsofboots.blogspot.com/2014/05/back-in-fells.html
Two Pairs of Boots . and four paws! Monday, 5 May 2014. Back in the fells! Oh dear this poor old blog has been a bit neglected hasn't it! The next 3 days were spent walking some of the Lakeland fells I'd not done before and a few that Gary hadn't done, which is rare as he has walked the vast majority of them in the many years he's been walking. So, as I needed to break myself in gently we started our first day of walking with two relatively small fells, Ling Fell and Sale Fell. Gary had the bright idea o...
