Stitchcounter: 2015: the year of making
http://stitchcounter.blogspot.com/2015/02/2015-year-of-making.html
Musings, knitting and otherwise. 2015: the year of making. Early in the year so I'm counting this as a new year outlook post. mmkay? Apparently, I forgot to actually post this after I finished editing. Doh! I noticed a lot of resolutions to cut down on RTW acquisitions and to focus on making more "cake" and less "frosting". (total aside, but doesn't it just make you want to eat cake every time you see those references? No, just me then? Can we say WONKY? Frog template from Coloured Buttons. The only othe...

A White Blank Page - TMI Flips English
http://www.morrisflipsenglish.com/1/post/2012/06/a-white-blank-page.html
A White Blank Page. I just had my first "first day of school" idea. Now, it's slightly stolen from Aaron Sams and Jon Bergmann, but what isn't in my classroom these days? In their excellent plenary session at the recent Flipped Conference in Chicago (henceforth FlipCon12) they ended with this:. I'm pretty freaking good at it. I can get my students to comprehend something and show that knowledge on a test. But that is no longer good enough. For my students, or for me. So I stopped talking so much. I s...

Stitchcounter: Sewing Plunge
http://stitchcounter.blogspot.com/2014/09/sewing-plunge.html
Musings, knitting and otherwise. Well, I did it! I registered for The Sewing Party. I am committing to making at least one garment between now and then. Surely, even with my penchant for procrastinating and super full schedule, I should be able to manage one basic piece. Maybe a Sorbetto. I want to take all the classes. I'll have to somehow convince my hubby to watch the kids so I can take the classes and try some of the projects. Totally looking forward to Madalynn. At 1:30pm, mastering measurements.

Day 5- Little Black Dress | Some Assembly Required
https://norunningallowed.wordpress.com/2015/03/03/day-5-little-black-dress
Day 5- Little Black Dress. It’s been another late night and long day, but I am so excited to share tonight’s refashion with you! It started out feeling thrilled in a little black dress I snagged on clearance in a local consignment store. I’m in need of something business professional for my thesis defense next week and I think this dress will do the trick! First, I removed the brass buttons (I’ll be saving those for a future project). And then I was just feeling a little Audrey Hepburn, what do ya think?

June School Reflections: End of Week 1 - TMI Flips English
http://www.morrisflipsenglish.com/1/post/2012/06/june-school-reflections-end-of-week-1.html
June School Reflections: End of Week 1. Well, week one is over. And I have so many thoughts to sort. I mean, I've had about 18 hours of class time since I last posted. Crazy. To organise this a little bit, I decided to put it in sections with bold titles. Feel free to skip around - this is not really a linear post because of how much I have to write about! Today, and they actually played three more games than I required (with the sound turned up to accompany their own sound effects of pleasure when they ...
