Linda's Art Journal: July 2015
http://lindasartjournal.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
Monday, July 27, 2015. I've finally earned my certificate in Graphic Design at Laney College. I'm working as a Design Intern with a team other six other designers at Oakland Digital and Literacy Center. Our first assignment was to create a digital announcement in our own style. I created a pencil drawing which I scanned into Photoshop. It was "painted" in Photoshop using the Brush and Mixer Brush tools. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). SF Bay Area, CA. View my complete profile. Linda's Art Journal: February 2014
http://lindasartjournal.blogspot.com/2014_02_01_archive.html
Friday, February 28, 2014. This was a final project for my design class last semester. It’s purpose is to illustrate the word “cooperation”. The monkeys are cooperating to get bananas which are being guarded by an alligator. I want to add more quilting in the background, but I don’t know when I will find the time right now. I am currently using it again in parts in a photo montage for my Photoshop class. I have linked up to Nina Marie’s Off the Wall Friday. Monday, February 24, 2014. This hand lettering ...

Linda's Art Journal: April 2014
http://lindasartjournal.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html
Saturday, April 26, 2014. Yes, the backpack drawing from last week is meant to represent Minnie Pearl. I was trying to think of a celebrity who had a recognizable personality beyond a character they portrayed. It seems Minnie Pearl was nearly always in character. If you know anything about her, I suppose the price tag was a huge clue. Putting a face on the head of hammer seemed like an obvious choice. He looks angry. Maybe because his nose gets sore when he’s working. Sunday, April 20, 2014. Tuesday, Apr...

Linda's Art Journal: August 2015
http://lindasartjournal.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html
Monday, August 31, 2015. Improvisation - part 2. I took a second look at the "round robin" quilt I came home with from the cqfa. Meeting a few weeks ago. There was a large green rectangle that was drawing too much attention in the original, so I trimmed it down into smaller pieces and redistributed them. Added some more of the blue print fabric, and continued the black as a border. Need to decide how big I want it so I can finish the piecing. Monday, August 3, 2015. As the quilts progressed we were encou...

Linda's Art Journal: January 2013
http://lindasartjournal.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html
Saturday, January 26, 2013. Here is the quilt I started back in November. This was a fun experiment to start with a couple of tiny scraps and build a quilt around them. I used free motion quilting to extend the design of the small bits of commercial fabric. Today I painted (mostly in the background.). To make the painting relate to the piecing, I added some geometric shapes while I was painting. This discovered while I was working on my Whisper Quilt. Wednesday, January 23, 2013. Linda's Art Journal: September 2012
http://lindasartjournal.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html
Wednesday, September 26, 2012. My second succulent is complete. I fussed with the colors and values so much trying to get it just so. It turned out reasonably like the photo, but the finished painting seams overworked to me. I admire watercolors with looser strokes and broad washes, and so I decided to try the same composition again. Saturday, September 8, 2012. Caroline Ogg and Bron McInerney led a mini Self Portrait workshop at our CQFA. Friday, September 7, 2012. The first of my completed paintings fo...
