Wrapping paper is hard to find (though we did find ribbon), candy canes are non-existent…but we did bake and frost cookies, and we went to a carols and candles service at the local English church. Life in the everyday ordinary. The shepherds and wise men sought the stable and bowed in worship. In the ordinary…made extraordinary by the love and grace of God. That’s what Christmas is all about. Is it hot in here…. 8230;or is it me? Saturday was Safari day….and it almost didn’t happen. We woke to 2 sick kids (Nathaniel and Jon)…fevers and upset tummies (it had been making the rounds in the dorm). After lots of prayer and agonizing (and a few fever less hours) we decided to go for it. I now know for sure why you need a 4 wheel drive vehicle in Africa! Is it hot in here…. 8230;or is it me? I’ve heard Nik, Andy and the kids talk about “the dunes”…and I’ve even seen pictures taken there…but nothing prepared me for the sheer beauty of the place. A treasure in this harsh land! The photos don’t begin to capture the beauty of the scenery, but here they are…. And here you can see the kiddos all having the time of their lives….
