I had my first G1000 flight. The Garmin 1000 system replaces the steam gauge watches with a fully integrated avionics suite. The story of an expat flight instructor. December 14, 2008. Today decided to go to Viejas Valley for some christmas shopping. I filled up my green metallic stallion with a full tank for about $20 ( 160 SEK), and we rode towards the hills. Although it is mid-December, and just above 10 Celsius, we decided to go with the top down. Be it with double sweaters and with the heater on full. What could be cooler? The story of an expat flight instructor. November 30, 2008. Next stop: JAA FI Rating. With the FAA CFI Checkride still to go, P and I were offered to become JAA Flight Instructors as well. This means that we will not only be able to instruct towards American (FAA) licenses, but also towards European (JAA) licenses. Another good thing is that we will be able to use it when we go home again. An FAA Instructor rating doesn’t do you good much when you’re back in JAA-land. Good luck to me! On December 4, 2008.
