Jawbone's Journal

Over the course of my post-placing adventure, I have decided that I learned the following:. 0 Make sure you have a post-level and a string-line-level (non-traditional tools). Also some duplex nails. 3 If using tube-forms, which I like, then only use them for the top 1 foot or so of the pour. There is no real reason for tube-forms beyond esthetic and there is no real need for esthetic several feet below grade. 5 Plan to have the buried part of the post be equivalent to 1/3 of the exposed part of the post.

Jawbone's Journal: 2008.11

http://www.jawbonesjournal.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html

The Calm Before the Storm. In other news, yesterday Granny Southern came up and all the girls went to High Tea. Not surprisingly, Ada-Ruth was the best dressed. PS: Ella and Tycho remain ever vigilant. Tycho maintains a watchful gaze on the far horizon whilst Ella ensures our guests aren't about any funny business. PPS: I think I have found my new favorite photo of my daughter.SASSY! The "Daily" Ada-Ruth Lorraine 2008.11.23 - The other grandparents. I don't get it. Shouldn't we wait for her to wake us?

Jawbone's Journal: The Daily?

http://www.jawbonesjournal.blogspot.com/2008/12/daily.html

Okay, so now I'm no where near being daily with the Ada-Ruth Lorraine postings. Please forgive me. The past two weeks have been so fun-filled I haven't had the time. A Johnny Jump Up. Everyone managed to get home without incident in spite of some weather in the Midwest. We even got a few inches of snow a few days later. Somehow Judy even managed to get all of the leftovers into our refrigerator. David, Melissa, Paul and Anita all spent their last night (in the area) at the Stanley Hotel.

Jawbone's Journal: 2008.08

http://www.jawbonesjournal.blogspot.com/2008_08_01_archive.html

Only a month ago I was describing what I was hoping would be a pleasant adventure (new job, house hunting, moving, etc). Today we are a little less than halfway through the adventure and so far, so good. When not meeting people my boss has had me driving around the forest and getting to know the roads. I have taken a handful of pictures and as soon as I find my cable I will be uploading. As you might imagine there are some stellar vistas, particularly in the Red Feather area. We love to travel but are terrible at timely trip reports. Friday, December 5, 2008. Ghost Hunting at the Stanley Hotel. Melissa) - The Sunday after Thanksgiving was a real treat. We went to the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park (just outside Rocky Mountain National Park). I had. Never heard of it before, but Anita being a horror movie buff wanted to stay here one night on our trip to Colorado. I am so glad she did! Never heard of it either? Being tourists we explored the hotel. While we never saw any ghosts, ...

We love to travel but are terrible at timely trip reports. Wednesday, July 8, 2009. Relaxing Weekend in the Silver Island Mountains. Melissa) - A long weekend and a new tent, David and I really wanted to camp. The problem? So does everyone else in Utah. We tried to come up with a destination that would be uncrowded so we could get a camp site. David came up with the idea of the Silver Island Mountains, a mountain range right on the Utah/Nevada border. Boy was it ever uncrowded! A site showcasing our trav...

We love to travel but are terrible at timely trip reports. Friday, February 27, 2009. Melissa) - Jason Davis (39), Diana Davis (40), and Stephen Dryer have an exciting discussion about water heaters, specifically tankless water heaters. A true sign of growing up and becoming a homeowner is that something so oblique can be of such great interest. Everyone that sees Mom and Dad's new water heater wants to replace the dinosaur tanks in their homes. Not convinced? Saturday, February 21, 2009. Saturday Paul a...
