When Worlds Collide | Through the Viewfinder
https://glennkmoorephotography.com/2015/06/26/when-worlds-collide
Photography by Glenn Moore. June 26, 2015. A planetary conjunction is underway with Jupiter, upper left, and Venus on a visual collision course through the night sky. Venus is 56 million miles from Earth, and Jupiter is 10 times farther out at just over 550 million miles. The planets will inch closer every evening and by June 30 they will appear just 1/3 of a degree apart in the night sky. A walk along the wall. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. Touch down | Through the Viewfinder
https://glennkmoorephotography.com/2014/10/12/touchdown
Photography by Glenn Moore. October 12, 2014. Every year I make a trip to a small wetlands outside of Lodi to watch migrating sandhill cranes make their evening arrival to the small field by the side of the road. With less water to flood the wetlands because of the drought I was unsure how many cranes would be coming to roost in early October so with two bags of camera gear I headed to the Isenberg Crane Reserve to watch an evening arrival. Conjunction | Through the Viewfinder
https://glennkmoorephotography.com/2015/06/30/conjuntion
Photography by Glenn Moore. June 30, 2015. Jupiter and Venus came within 1/3 of a degree apart in a planetary conjunction tonight, June 30 2015, that was 2000 years in the making. The two bright planets were close enough to resemble a double star as they shined through a thin cloud layer. I have been tracking the planets progress on their journey and was rewarded with this celestial sight. A walk along the wall. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. Cascade | Through the Viewfinder
https://glennkmoorephotography.com/2015/02/16/cascade
Photography by Glenn Moore. February 16, 2015. Of all the places I hike each year one holds a special place in my heart for its beauty and peacefulness. Tucked into the base of the Santa Cruz mountain range a small winding creek provides seemingly endless photo opportunities. After recent rains my girlfriend and I headed to the Waterfall Loop Trail at Uvas Canyon Park. I will have to wait another year for a trip to the waterfalls of Uvas Canyon. If enough rain falls I may try a photo adventure to the...

Daybreak | Through the Viewfinder
https://glennkmoorephotography.com/2014/12/26/daybreak
Photography by Glenn Moore. December 26, 2014. I had planned earlier this year for a series of visits to the Isenberg sandhill crane reserve outside Lodi but work and life kept me away. I managed to find time for one last trip with my girlfriend in mid-December to see the sunrise above Isenberg one last time for the season. Deep purple hues mingled with a lone break in the clouds where the sunlight could be seen. As sunrise passed a cool blue hue settled across the wetlands as the few hundreds of cra...

A walk along the wall | Through the Viewfinder
https://glennkmoorephotography.com/2015/06/28/a-walk-along-the-wall
Photography by Glenn Moore. A walk along the wall. June 28, 2015. A two month long hiatus from the trail ended with a trip to the southern slopes of Mount Diablo for a hike along Wall Point Trail. The 883 mile hike climbs the rock trail to the the mountain’s Summit Trail. Turning away from the summit the path descends through Pine Canyon along Barbecue Terrace Road before a final climb back to the trailhead. Scattered clouds greeted me on the trail making for a humid hike but the view was worth it.

True colors | Through the Viewfinder

Photography by Glenn Moore. January 14, 2015. My photography on hikes is so different than the rigid journalism photos I take at work. It may have taken some time, but my style is pretty much set I think. At first I thought the dramatic lighting and high contrast scenes were accidental but now I look for them first. But what has come to intrigue me the most on the trail is movement and color. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. Fill in your details below or click an icon to log in:.
