Simon Mainwaring's Net11 Learning [b]Log.a place for thoughts, ideas and possibly some flying monkeys, during my learning journey. Wednesday, February 18, 2009. Module 4 - Evaluating The Web. As a part of the Concepts assignment I was introduced, in no uncertain terms, to the concept of evaluating and annotating my reference sites. And writing a brief annotation about the page, if needed. In this manner I have began to really manage the information presented. To me and cross reference it for future use.

Learning [b]Log Net11: Really, What Is The Internet To You?
http://learningblognet11.blogspot.com/2008/12/really-what-is-internet-to-you.html
Simon Mainwaring's Net11 Learning [b]Log.a place for thoughts, ideas and possibly some flying monkeys, during my learning journey. Tuesday, December 9, 2008. Really, What Is The Internet To You? So I just had a thought, yes an actual thought, about the internet and what it means to me. Now that got me thinking, how do I really see the internet, what is it that attracts me and what do I use it for? Community, learning mechanism, a place for shopping, a marketing tool or a tool for change? Simon Mainwaring...

Simon Mainwaring's Net11 Learning [b]Log.a place for thoughts, ideas and possibly some flying monkeys, during my learning journey. Sunday, February 22, 2009. So Frustrating I could Cry. So my concepts assignment is in and locked away (well and truly), yet now as I trawl the net as part of the research for modules 4 and 5 I have come across a number of sites. Which have further supported my concepts. Oh why oh why is this so? Is it that my understanding of the concepts has grown. What did I find then.

Simon Mainwaring's Net11 Learning [b]Log.a place for thoughts, ideas and possibly some flying monkeys, during my learning journey. Thursday, February 26, 2009. Well I have come to the end of my journey for Net 11, and what a ride it has been. For me, this study period and Net11, has been an enjoyable, yet challenging, introduction to Internet Studies. Like many others in the group, I thought this unit would be a relative stroll through park. Or Internet if you like, boy was I wrong. And what impact they ...

Ms Star's NET11 Blog: Module 5 - Peer to Peer Case Study
http://mynet11blog.blogspot.com/2009/04/module-5-peer-to-peer-case-study.html
Saturday, April 11, 2009. Module 5 - Peer to Peer Case Study. It certainly let the record companies know they were behind the eight ball! What I find amazing about Shawn Fanning is he was a teenager with a great idea, not motivated by money but by practicality and efficiency. It certain proves the old nutshell 'necessity is the mother of invention' to be true and on some level it was unfair that he was prosecuted. It reminds of the McLibel case. Ha ha sucked in! For that reason that is why I think the mu...

Ms Star's NET11 Blog: Module 5 - Piracy is Good?
http://mynet11blog.blogspot.com/2009/04/module-5-piracy-is-good.html
Saturday, April 11, 2009. Module 5 - Piracy is Good? Well I have a bit of a fascination with stripy shirts and socks and skulls and cross bones. Maybe I was a pirate in a former life (I'd certainly be considered one now in regards to technology). But what does piracy mean today when it comes to the Internet? It seems downloading of free music, television and movies without the consent of the producers is piracy. But can it be good? Mark Pesce (of the ABC's New Inventors. Posted by Ms Star. Studying Indig...

Ms Star's NET11 Blog: April 2009
http://mynet11blog.blogspot.com/2009_04_01_archive.html
Sunday, April 12, 2009. End of NET11 Musings. Wow, I made it to the end. That was a really hard slog! I really enjoyed learning about many different facets of the internet but really didn't enjoy all the tasks I had to complete. I now have a better understanding of the Internet, its history, current form and potential future. I'm hoping that this knowledge will become solidified as I progress through my degree in Internet Communications. Posted by Ms Star. Saturday, April 11, 2009. So the next article.
