Don't Tell My Mother I Went To: March 2013

http://www.jonahthewanderer.blogspot.com/2013_03_01_archive.html

Friday, March 15, 2013. South Korea: 10 Facts. It's been quite a time since I blogged. I have not yet written about a few destinations I visited in the past but I'd like to go fast forward and talk about my not so recent trip to the land of boybands, girl groups, kimchi, BB creams and novelas - South Korea. My Korean visa was released 2 days prior to my booked flight schedule. Thank heavens there was no further verifications or proofs asked of me. Had it happened, I might have given up this trip. Little ...

Don't Tell My Mother I Went To: Beijing and Goodbye

http://www.jonahthewanderer.blogspot.com/2014/04/beijing-and-goodbye.html

Saturday, April 12, 2014. Up to this very moment, I still do not know how to put my Beijing experience into words. My heart would pound every time I try to recall what happened on that one fateful day. She was happy. I know she was. On the hindsight, I was thanking God that she was able to celebrate her birthday alive. We arrived Beijing on a cold midnight of October 19. We were then transferred to hotel and rested for the next day's tour. The first 2 days of our stay was devoted to attractions visit - S...

Don't Tell My Mother I Went To: August 2011

Tuesday, August 30, 2011. 101 Things I Certainly Enjoyed: No. 7: Camwhoring at Senado Square. My Macau trip was full of memories. Hence, here's another entry with photos (of course) shot in a Calle Crisologo-ish Senado Square. Don't you love the tilings of the pavement? This trip was FUN because of my company - the three tough cookies namely Jeng, Jen and Glad. Their menu boasts of soup with burger. Don't ask me how it tastes! We never had the guts to try it though! Supporting roles. Passers-by kuno!

Tuesday, October 25, 2011. 101 Things I Certainly Enjoyed: No. 8 - Barkada Bonding in Baguio City. If there's really one thing I certainly enjoyed, it would have to be the Baguio trip I had with friends. I have gone to the city of pines more than a couple of times but this recent visit was a blast! Actually, not so recent because we went there February this year to witness Panagbenga Festival. That's my right hand signing. How can you sleep if your barkada was so witty and wild? First stop was Manaoag Ch...

Wednesday, October 29, 2014. You Haven’t Gone to Baler Yet? Here’s What You've Missed! Posted on Wednesday, October 29, 2014 by Richard J. Roque. When talking about getaways nearby the Metro, one of the places I usually recommend is Baler. With only six hours of drive away from Manila, this place is good for groups who are adventure seekers during weekends. So now, do you know what is it about Baler that keeps people – surfers, photographers and just travelers – coming to this place? 1 Ride the Waves.

Wednesday, July 6, 2011. Posted on Wednesday, July 06, 2011 by Richard J. Roque. Located in the province of Aurora, Baler is known as a place where you can go surfing because of the big waves; but, it is not just a place for surfers because there are also places where even non-surfers like us could enjoy beach bumming and nature-tripping. Anyway, it’s always fun being with these guys – Gladelle, Mhylene, She, Sheila and Jonah. What We Did in Baler:. MyTravels Diguisit Bay, Baler. Sunday, July 3, 2011.

A trip to Hundred Island National Park is a great diversion from the busy urban life . This is one of the places I visited and will never ever forget. It was last November of 2010 when I got a chance to experience the beauty and the adventure that lies in the hundred wonders - Hundred Islands! Parola at Lucap Wharf. Expectacular Sun Rise at the Wharf. After 20...

Monday, October 29, 2012. Not So Planned Bacolod Trip. Posted on Monday, October 29, 2012 by Richard J. Roque. Know it would be late to post this one but since I have nothing to post this October 2012, I decided to share this trip way back a year ago. It was last October of 2011 when I, together with my travel buddy and friends went to the Negros Occidental - particularly Bacolod City. Upon arrival, we immediately hired a van to bring us to the Palmas del Mar resort. Well, not really the first thing ...

Thursday, July 4, 2013. The Grill by Antonio's Tagaytay. Posted on Thursday, July 04, 2013 by Richard J. Roque. Tagaytay has been a place where our peer usually hang out since 2009. Aside from being easily accessible from the Manila, its mild climate and dramatic scenery, this place has a lot to offer for foodies like us. For foodies, there are many must-try restaurants located around the place. One of which is the The Grill by Antonio's. Combination of Black and White. Sinigang na Salmon sa Miso. Next s...

Sunday, September 30, 2012. Special Lugaw with Famous Ilocos Bagnet in Banchetto. Posted on Sunday, September 30, 2012 by Richard J. Roque. One of the things I love when I am on a graveyard duty is the challenge of staying awake and lively throughout the night. Eating is one of the ways I can achieve that. Maybe that is one reason why I also get chubby after a month of night duty. LOL! In all those suggestions, seems that only eating works. One serving of Lugaw with Bagnet. You can try it with other ingr...

One of the breath-taking vacation spots here in the Philippines, Pearl Farm, Samal Island, Davao is for individuals looking for a secluded, private, and relaxing place to spend a day or two. First thing that came up on our research was Samal, Island. There are so many beach resorts in Samal. Of all those resorts, we chose Pearl Farm, Beach Resort. Yup! We arrived at Francisco ...

Jonah The Trainee Vicar. The ramblings of a former Theological Student who is now a Curate in a beautiful Suffolk village. Advent – the forgotten season? If we are to believe the media, now that Halloween and Remembrance is over, the next stop is Christmas … and boy don’t the advertisers not let us forget it. Advent then is the time for watching and waiting, for fasting and abstaining, looking forward with hope to the Coming. Indeed the word Advent comes from the latin word. The following is from my most...

Japan did not disappoint the six of us who trooped to this culturally rich country last month to visit Osaka, Kyoto and Tokyo. It was an eight-day adventure with former workmate Jerri, sweet hearts Jeng and Chino (who by the way I just met for the first time on our departure to Osaka), my dear cousin Jheck and friend Richard. Jonah Tidbits and other family news. Thursday, August 26, 2010. Can't believe I have a kindergartner let alone a 5 almost 6 year old! Friday, October 9, 2009. Goodbye DayCare, Hello PreSchool. By the way the tigers were awesome. I wish I would've taken video of them. We got lucky on one of the train stops and while we sat and waited for the passengers to get on the tigers decided to get playful. It was a perfect view. They acted just like very large kittens!
